Russell's Cousin- Lando Norris story

Saudi Sands

After the first race in Bahrain you were off straight to Saudi Arabia for the second race of the season. Mercedes success at Bahrain put the team in a good spirit and positive mindset for the next round while Red Bull and Ferrari too were on your heals.

George's first race was done with and now he had gotten the flow of things, team member names and familiarity of the garage like you. Angela was a massive help to you, giving you tips for nutritional plans and how's best to time warming up to getting in the car to limit down time for the drivers mind to wonder.

During the break between races you obviously had to care for George's health to keep him fit but you also managed to spend a few days relaxing with mick, going shopping and out for dinner. Every moment you spent together was just so perfect, you loved each other romantically but also he was your best friend. He also celebrated his 23rd birthday but as you were both away from home you decided to celebrate properly after this weekend race. It was the morning of Friday practice and you were all getting ready to head to the track so you bid goodbye to mick as you left his room and made your way over to pick up George and get his ass into gear.

On your way down the Mercedes floor you had a quick chat with Carlos and Charles who were leaving to get there early for track walks, Charlotte was in Monaco that weekend doing some work for her internship with a leading architecture company and Isla was off in Barcelona on a modelling shoot so it was a lonely weekend for you. However, Carmen had managed to get a flight out to see George so at least you could talk to a female at some point. The only thing with your field of work was it was male dominated, any female you saw instantly became one of your best friends, that's just how it was for everyone.

"So lunch at 12:30 today, gives us time before practice to settle" you said as you walked through the paddock chatting away with George
"Cool, I have a meeting at 12 for some promo so I'll bring it with me." He said
"Yeah, I'll try and see if I can get down to mick then for a bit before the start. We are on about going on dune buggies tonight in the sands"
"Wow that would be so amazing, been meaning to do it for ages." He commented.
"Yeah, well as long as everything goes to plan it should be good... look who it is then. Brilliant." You said walking to the other side of the paddock strip
"Anna, you can't run from him."
"I can't be near him. Makes me sick."
"You've both moved on, don't make it too awkward you only know the cameras will pick it up"
"They already have. It's obvious."
"Well at least be civil. You don't want to be the bad guy"
"How can I when he is the one who cheated"
"You know they aren't together" George followed
"I don't care if it's official or not. I just don't want to be dealing with it. He's a dick for how he acts around people"
"Hey lando!" George shouted over
"Oh piss off why did you do that" you hissed as you have an evil side eye at George

He made his way over, hands in his pockets, head down
"Hey you ok mate?" George asked
"Yeah alright, you? ... Anna?"
"Yeah brilliant" George said
"Never better" you said before walking off to Haas

— GEORGE POV—
"Well... sorry bout that" George said
"She's always been like that. Stubborn" Lando commented
"Runs in the family" he laughed
"Have you told her?" Lando asked
"Have I eck! She can find out herself. It's better just leaving it" George said
"But she needs to know I didn't start it, she initiated it, she came into me and when I saw Anna with ... with mick," Lando said. "I went onto it because I wanted her to hurt how she hurt me" he said painfully
"She's happy. We all saw it coming last season. I'm sorry but they have been long term friends."
"But -"
"Lando leave it. Please"
"Fine. See you on track"

He walked off, slumped and head down. The difference it made without Anna in his life was too much for him to handle. He still had that blonde girl on his arm and Anna was happy with Mick.
