Lando had just had two podiums, both finishing second place and the team seemed to be on a good run from the summer break, obviously someone had turned on the power button on the cars and they were flying compared to the start of the year. With max ready to win his third world championship there want much anyone could do but try and be quicker which for Mercedes was far off but not so far for the McLaren's.

Oscar had done really well to get a race win in the sprint, much to landos despair of still not winning a race he was slightly bitter. However the main focus for you guys this weekend was the weather. The humidity was insane, but what did they expect when you do a race here at this time of the year! It's crazy!

Mercedes were doing their best to keep the team cool with cold water, cold towels and someone managed to get 30 mini fans you were all passing around. George trained hard every session you guys did but nothing could physically prepare him for this. Carmen was fortunately up in hospitality and managed to escape the garage that was literally 1,000,000 degrees and just a sweat box.
"I'm struggling with this" George said as he started suiting up for the race
"We don't have a choice" you admitted
"There must be some limit for heat!"
"That might be introduced after this race I think, I've heard some people really aren't well even from yesterday. It's a demanding weekend with a sprint" you explained as you loosened his boots ready for him
"Heard they were struggling down at Williams with Logan." George commented
"Yeah Lilly messaged carmen who just said he was green when they saw him" you replied "anyway. All we can do is our best and to keep hydrated and safe. Your water is luke warm by the way if it's too cold your gonna shock"
"Cool"
"They are trying to keep the cockpit as cool as possible but the engine is gonna be getting hot so just try and get through it."
"Anna stop worrying!" George laughed as he shook your shoulders
"But it's important you know everything" you replied laughing
"But you need to take a break don't be stood up in the garage the whole race, your three months along. I know you don't look it but it's been back to backs and you need to rest"

(Japan throwback)

"Anna! Jesus you okay?" George shouted as you almost collapsed glad you walked down the pit lane to the grid. Your legs went limp and you actually dropped George's helmet case
"I'm - wow - I'm sorry. I don't know what happened there" you said flustered as you went to pick up his helmet
"Anna you need to take care of yourself don't push it" he said quietly as no one had announced it publicly that you were expecting.
"I'm okay-" you started to say as you felt a hand lace your back
"Hey you okay?" Lando said, the concern in his face was pretty clear he was worried.
"I don't know-"
"No she's not, she needs to rest. Come on mate tell her please." George said
"He's right you need to be careful now it's not just you your looking after babe, come on let's go sit down. Honestly he'll be fine he knows what he needs to do"
"I'm sorry George"
"Don't apologise you need to be healthy" lando said reassuringly.

You watched the race from the garage, it was too hot anywhere else. They managed to set up the car coolers to run with dry ice for everyone to cool down by but this heat was something else. You had been in some hot climates, spending lots of summers on karting tracks, having visited Australia and South America in their hottest seasons but this was a sickly and humid heat that you couldn't breathe in. Having just been sat you couldn't stop sweating and the garage was no one massive stinky room filled with over 60 team members. The ratio of fuel to sweat to deodorant was a new one.

That's when they started dropping like flies.

Logan  - retired due to sickness

Esteban - continued but sick in his own helmet

Fernando  - surprisingly not effected by anything but did complain of his ass being so hot it was on fire

Oscar  - complaining of dizziness and tunnel vision
