Chapter 23

Clarke's POV

Today is New Year's Eve, and Octavia wants to throw a New Years party with everyone. I wasn't sure at first since Madi is having a playdate in the afternoon with Charlotte, but my mom offered to let Madi spend the night with her. Apparently, she wants me to go and have fun tonight. Because Octavia's party doesn't start until eleven, I won't drop her off until later tonight. I plan on dropping her off around 8, which is a little before her normal bedtime.

Bell and I are going to hang out while Madi's at her playdate, then he plans on staying so we can head to the party together. Jasper is bringing a girl he met a few weeks ago, and Miller is bringing a guy he met a while back.

Right now I'm getting Madi ready for her playdate with Charlotte. Madi and Charlotte have become really good friends since her first day of school. I have met Charlotte's parents a few times, and they have been super nice. "Where's Bellmy, momma?" Madi asks as I do her hair. "He'll be here later when you get back from your playdate," I tell her. She gives me the pouty lip about missing Bell.

"Hey now, put the pouty lip away or Bellmy won't come and see you before you go to grandma's," I tell her. She quits giving me the pouty lip, but she still is upset. "You ready for your playdate?" I ask her. She smiles and nods her head. I lift her off the counter and put her down, so she can go get her shoes and coat.

"Ready momma," she says trying to zip her coat. "Hold on," I say zipping her coat. "There now, let me get my coat and shoes then we can go," I tell her. "We need to tell Stella bye," Madi says. "Oh no, go get her from her kennel and so we can tell her by," I tell her. She runs and lets Stella out of her kennel, giving her kisses.

"Bye Stella," she says, giving her one last kiss before putting her back. I don't trust Stella to run around on her while we're not home, so I got a kennel for her to move around in with her food and water so she won't tear things up.

I drove over to Charlotte's house, which wasn't far from the school. I pull into the driveway and look back at Madi. I can see how excited she is by her face. I help her out of the car and walk her up. "Hi, Madi! Come on in," Charlotte's mom says. "Madi," Charlotte says, seeing her. "Charlie," Madi says, running over to her.

"Thank you for letting her come over," I tell her. "Oh, it's not a problem. I can drop her off before dinner if needed," she tells me. "I can pick her up. I was going to be out and about anyway," I say. "Madi, I'm going to go, I'll see you when I come to pick you up." "Wait," she says running over and hugging me. "I love you," I tell her. "Love you, momma," she says, going back over to Charlotte.

Bell and I go see a movie and get groceries before picking up Madi. Madi is so excited to see Bellamy after her playdate. We're currently eating supper before I take Madi over to my mom's in a little bit. "Mommy? Are you and Bellmy going to pick me up tomorrow?" Madi asks. "It depends on what time she picks you up. I have to go somewhere with Miller tomorrow afternoon so maybe," Bell explains. "Okay," she says. "Can I bring Stella with me to grandma's?" Madi asks. "Yep, I talked to grandma about it and she says that is fine," I tell her. "Yay," she says excitedly.

At 8:00 I drive Madi and Stella over to my mom's and head to Octavia's party. Bell is going to follow me there since he's staying there tonight. We are the last ones to arrive at the party since we dropped off Madi first. "Finally you guys are here! The party is just getting started," Octavia says as we enter the bar. "I had to drop Madi off and wanted to make sure she was going to be okay before I left," I explain. "Don't worry about being late, we're ready to have some fun," Octavia says.

Jasper introduces Maya to everyone, while Miller introduces Jackson to everyone before we start anything. "Let's get this party started," Jasper yells while taking a drink of his moonshine. Apparently, Jasper and Monty know how to make moonshine, but add their own twist to it. "Cheers to that," Monty says.

By 11:50 almost everyone is drunk, except Lincoln, Raven, Harper, Maya, and I. Maya is very nice and sweet. She also thought Bell and I were dating at first. Harper is with Maya, watching Monty and Jasper do "Just Dance" drunk, while Raven and I are sitting on the counter talking. "So how long have you and Murphy known each other?" I ask her. "A while now. I mean after I left Wick I was broken. So when we met, I was scared. But he ended up picking up my pieces and put them back together," she explains.

"What about you and Bellamy?" she asks. "What do you mean?" I ask. "Like when did you realize you were in love with him?" she asks. "I don't know. I guess a while after we became friends. I don't know, it was around Halloween when I started to realize it. Then when he brought Madi trick or treating and was helping her, I just realized how I felt about him. I have wanted to tell him so many times but I'm scared."

"Of him not liking you and running your friendship?" I nod in response, unsure what to say. "Raven, Clarke, the balls about to drop come on," Murphy says slurring his words. "I'll be there in a minute," I tell her. She nods and follows Murphy to the living room. I hop off the counter to go find Bellamy.

I find him in the dining room, putting the cups up for their second round of beer pong. "Hey," he says looking up. "Hey," I respond. He walks over to me, wrapping an arm around my waist. He starts to lean in looking from my lips to my eyes. I lean forward as our lips coil, fitting like two puzzle pieces going together.

I feel my heart rate pick up as our lips move in sync with each other. I never thought this moment would ever happen in my life. "Dang it, Jasper!" We break apart hearing someone yell and something break. "I jusst a little tippyss," Jasper says walking in. "Jasper you broke the lamp dancing with it," Echo says laughing.

I wake up the next morning, alone in my house. I drove home after we cleaned the lamp up. Bell's and my kiss keeps replaying in my head over and over again. I know he was drunk, but I still wonder if he wanted it to happen and if he had the same feelings. I have so many thoughts running through my mind right now. I decide to get up and eat before I do anything else.

After breakfast, I get ready to go get Madi, with millions of thoughts running through my mind. I text all of the girls to see if I could meet up with them to talk about last night. They all respond by saying yes, and O also says Bell is out with Miller. I walk into my mom's house after telling her I am on my way.

"Mommy," Madi yells, running over to me. "Hi sweetie, how was your sleepover with grandma?" I ask her, kissing her temple. "We made pictures and stayed up till what time grandma?" she asks. "Until 9 and don't forget to show mommy what you and Stella made," she tells her. Madi runs to the living room to get whatever it is. "How was the party?" my mom asks me. "It was good.". "Look mommy, it's my handprints and Stella's," she says bring in the paper with Stella behind her.

"I love it, I think we'll have to hang it on the fridge when we get home," I tell her. "Yay," she says. "Do you want to come with me to go see Auntie O and the others?" I ask her. She nods her head, getting her things ready. "Thanks for watching her mom," I tell her. "It's not a problem Clarke," she tells me. I get Madi and Stella, along with her bag, and drive over to Octavia's place.

Hey guys! I know I keep ending in a cliffhanger but big things are happening here! Clarke and Bellamy kissed for one! Clarke wondering if Bellamy wanted it to happen and a little bit of cuteness from Madi!  Also, updates are going to be a bit slower because of school starting up and dance starting up.
