"USB ports are the epitome of electronics."
After Wing came in and told Gon he couldn't train in the use of Nen, he asked Killua to come with him to talk about something. He did and that left you, Zushi, and Gon in a room together.
"Random question; do you believe in aliens?" You asked, leaning back on your hands.
"Of course!" Gon said, tilting his head towards you.
Zushi scratched his head and furrowed his eyebrows, "Um, not really."
"Why?" You leaned forward, off of your hands, and rubbed your wrist. Leaning back on them had started to hurt, so you shifted to a more comfortable position.
Zushi shrugged his shoulders, letting himself relax out of his defensive stance. "Well, it just doesn't seem realistic. We just found out that other solar systems exist and if there were aliens, why haven't they invaded us yet?" He explained, walking to the side of the bed.
"Good argument. Maybe they're just in their prehistoric age," you sat criss-cross applesauce and let your arms rest on your legs. "Or maybe they are so beyond our, uh, compre- conpre- no I was right before, comprehension, that they have invaded us and we just don't see it." You raised a finger and smiled at him.
"How old are you again?" Zushi asked, crossing his arms.
"I'm thirteen," you paused and looked over at Gon, "It's May 11th, right?"
He shook his head, looking up from the string Wing placed on his thumb. "It's May 12th, I had my fight with Gido yesterday."
You nodded thoughtfully and looked back to Zushi, "Then I'll be fourteen soon."
"Really?" Zushi asked, uncrossing his arms in what seemed to be disbelief.
You tapped your chin and scrunched your face up, "How old did you think I was?"
"I thought you were the same age as Gon and Killua, at first," Zushi said, "And then I thought you were ten."
"Ten? Why?" You asked, scratching your arm. "Er, not to be confused with the Nen kind of Ten."
"No offense, [y/n], but you say and do things that make it seem like you're a kid," Zushi answered in perhaps the sweetest voice possible.
You nervously laughed and looked away from him. "I want to preserve my youthful glow," you lied, speaking quick enough that your words slurred together. A moment of silence fell, no one having anything to say.
"You'll be fourteen soon?" Gon asked, finally paying attention to the conversation.
You looked at him and nodded, "May 19 is my birthday."
"Really? Mine was May 5," Gon smiled and pointed at himself.
"Why didn't you tell me sooner?" You asked. "We could've celebrated it."
Gon rubbed the back of his neck, "Well, with everything going on with the matches and learning Nen, I forgot all about it."
You lips went into a thin line, trying to think of a way to celebrate his birthday. "Maybe we can still celebrate it. It would just have to be a bit later."
