"Nothing ever lasts forever."
- 'Everybody Wants to Rule the World,' by Tears and Fears

You felt the sting in your palm first, then the overwhelming pain that came after. Your vision was blurry as you stared at the red mark on Gon's face. "What were you thinking? We had a plan, Gon! A plan so that we could avoid injuries like," you paused, thinking about your choice of words, "the ones you have."

"I know– I just–" his voice was a whisper. Genthru did something to his throat, so talking was hard for him. "I couldn't have won like that. It felt wrong." Gon looked up at you, holding his wrist with his hand. Blood was squeezing out of some of his injuries, making him close his left eye.

Killua cut in, placing his hand on your shoulder. "It'll be fine, we have Angels Breath, so we can just bippity-boppity him up." You let yourself exhale, nodding your head.

"I'm still going to lecture him about it, but I can wait until he's not hurt anymore," you mumbled, moving Killua's hand away from you. You didn't feel like being touched.

Biscuit yelled, "Gain!" and you watched as the card transformed into wind. The wind then formed a lady, who asked what she could do. Biscuit pointed to Gon and said, "Heal his hands and throat, actually, just heal all of him." The lady complied and blew on Gon, a small gust of wind passed by and he was healed.

"I could've done that," you looked at the ground. "I mean, I can't materialize limbs, but I could've healed his face and wrist," Killua giggled, hiding it behind his hand. "What? I'm just feeling a little useless."

"You're not useless, don't worry," he whispered, giving you a thumbs up. You gave him one in return, which soon led to the two of you pressing shoulders to each other.

Biscuit and Gon turned to you, "We can heal you next, [y/n]." Biscuit grabbed a copy of Angels Breath and yelled Gain, telling the lady the same thing she told her before. The lady (angel, you assumed) blew on you, and it was nice.

Every ache or pain you had went away. All that stress and anger felt like it was a million miles away. And, of course, your hands felt immensely better. You took off your bandages quickly, showing off your hands to Killua. Biscuit had moved on to Theo by then.

"Neato," you smiled, looking at them. "Killua, Killua, Killua, look, look– they're my hands," you flexed each of your fingers, "look at 'em! I have some nice hands."

"Yeah, they're pretty great," he grabbed your right one, landing a soft kiss on your knuckles, "I like holding them." You excitedly held his fingers, glad to have been able to do it again.

Goreinu visited shortly after and chastised you for healing Genthru's friends. "If you were planning to use Angel's Breath on murderers, then the trade is off," he, very bluntly, said.

"Then we won't use Angel's Breath. We have a [y/n]," Biscuit pushed you forward, sending you a small wink. You had no idea what that was supposed to mean, but you were going to go along with whatever she had planned.

"Healing them at all will result in complete termination of the trade," Goreinu crossed his arms, adamant on his position.

Killua tightened his hold on you, his other hand was inside of his shorts pocket, "If I were hurt like them, would you care if I was healed? With or without Angel's Breath."

"Well– yeah."

"I'm an assassin, I've killed way more people than they have," he looked down at the ground, "that doesn't make it okay, but at least the people they killed were prepared for it. They knew the risks of joining this game."
