"This house has never been the same as before."
- 'Paint,' by The Paper Kites

You sucked in a breath as your Nen enveloped Hiromi's shin. "You've finally gone off the wall crazy, I swear," you whispered under your breath, watching the wound slowly close up. The wound itself cut the skin almost up to their knee.

"I didn't ask to be cut by a piece of steel," they looked at you with narrowed eyes, immediately scrunching their face up.

"You should be fine, it's not a deep deep laceration," you saw the wound finish and wiped a rag on it. It soaked up the remaining blood, turning a dark red, and helped you see the wound more clearly. "See? All done."

"You're improving so quickly," Hiromi looked at their bloodied, but healed, shin. They grabbed the rag and continued mopping up the blood, "It's impressive."

"I've been working on my offense and defense, as well. Support is still what I'm better at, but I can at least hold my ground better," you stood up, knees popping, and stretched your back. Letting your hands fall, you walked to the sink and washed off any blood on you. "And I feel better about myself too, so I think it's a pretty good improvement."

Hiromi nodded their head and rung out the rag in the sink, after you were done. The red mixed in with the water and created a light pink, same with the rag. "Think it'll stain?"

"Probably," you shrugged your shoulders, not really knowing. "Let's just throw it in the wash and blame it on some radishes."

"I probably shouldn't condone this, being an adult and all," Hiromi threw the rag in the sink, filling it up with some water, "But we don't really have time to explain this. You're leaving today and still need to pack."

"Oh, yeah," you had completely forgot that you were leaving with your dad to Yorknew today, Hiromi slicing their shin over had distracted you. "I should probably get to that."

"I'll take care of," Hiromi vaguely gestured to the sink, "This."

"Alrighty," you walked down the hallway and into your room, shutting the door behind you and flicking the light switch on.

'Bringing what was in my bag seemed to tide me over for five months before,'  you grabbed your bag, the same one you took with you five months prior, and placed a change of clothes in there. Adding in some medical supplies, you looked around your room for anything else you would need.

'Snacks? Snacks,'  walking out of the hallway and into the pantry, you grabbed some crackers and put them in your bag. You placed your bag outside of your door, and walked back in to change.

You looked through your drawers, eventually deciding on some army green short overalls and a plain red shirt, a belt around your waist. You grabbed your shoes and slipped them on. You picked up your backpack on your way out, passing the stairwell, and sat on the couch. Choosing a book on the shelf, you opened up to the first chapter and began reading.

A few chapters in and you heard your dad calling for you. You walked to where you heard his voice, and saw him by the car. "Are you ready to go? I've been calling your name for forever now," he yelled, cupping his mouth.

"Yeah, I'm ready," you yelled back, walking down the steps. You walked down the driveway, stopping at the passenger door. "Are we leaving right now?"

"Yeah, we are," he said, opening the driver's door, shutting it after. You heard the car turn on, opening up your door and shutting it after getting in.

"New question; are we going to take a boat across or the bridge?" You asked, clicking your seat belt. "'Cause if we're going on the bridge, I think we shouldn't."
