"Nothing would be the same if you did not exist."
☆☆☆
You felt like barfing. Your stomach turned and twisted, almost as if someone had stabbed you ever-so-gently with a knife. That's how you felt watching the match. That's how you felt watching your friend go up against someone who was obviously stronger then him.
Thank heavens Gon was stubborn.
Gon was currently on the ground, Hanzo having hit the back of his neck, temporarily paralyzing him.
Killua looked more and more frustrated as the match continued. Hanzo pressed Gon's back against his knee, causing Gon obvious discomfort.
"Hey Killua," you tapped his shoulder, looking over at him. His blue eyes snapped over to you, his eyebrows furrowed and his lips turned down. "Are you...okay? You've been kinda tense since the match started," you asked him, pointing to where Hanzo was giving a talk to Gon about giving up.
"I'm fine," he snapped at you, looking back at the match. His lips turned to a sneer, his eyes narrowing at the sight of the two.
Gon was now on his hands and knees, Hanzo towering over him. He slowly staggered up, small grunts and groans expelling from his mouth. Once his hands were safely on his knees, you watched as Hanzo gear up to punch him.
How you wish you could interfer.
But if you could, what could you do? You weren't some hero with special powers that always ends up saving the day. You didn't posses the power to stop people from fighting. You were a thirteen year old kid who had no business being in the Hunter Exams.
In all reality, what could you do?
You weren't stronger then Gon, and Gon wasn't stronger then Hanzo. So, even if you had the choice to go in there and do something, would you?
You winced as Hanzo nailed Gon in the stomach. Gon let out choked gasps, one of his hands clutching his abdomen. He slowly fell to the ground, both of his hands wrapped around his stomach.
"Gon!" Leorio yelled from right next to you. "Stop pushing it! You have other fights you can win, so just-"
He was immediately shut down by Kurapika.
"Leorio!" Kurapika looked just as frustrated as Leorio. "If you were in his position, would you give up?" His tone was desperate and reasonable.
"Hell, no, I wouldn't!" He yelled again, even though Kurapika was sitting right next to him.
Why were you the only one feeling this way?
Why did you feel as if, even if you could do something, you wouldn't? Were you that shallow of a person? Because if so, were you truly worthy of being able to call someone your soulmate?
You watched as Gon quietly took the pain, barely making any sound. His face was once again on the floor, with Hanzo looming over him. Hanzo slid his foot smoothly under Gons stomach and flipped him over, so he landed a few steps away from where he was originally. He rolled a few more, eventually coming to a stop on his side.
You heard the examiners talking among themselves, but tuned them out, so your attention would be placed solely on Gon.
Gon soon got up on his hands and knees, stealing a peek at Hanzo. Hanzo brought both of his hands into a fist, intertwining them together and brought them down on Gons back. Gon fell back to his side, one of his hands resting on his side facing up.
