"So you gave away your heart."
- '"No Hell,"' by Cloud Cult

"That lady, she was amazing," Killua noted, just as the three of you got out of earshot. "I was on high alert that whole time, but I didn't even notice her slap me until my cheek was stinging."

You were counting your steps, waiting for it to be time to go back. "Yeah, she's really something," you absently said, not really paying attention to what he was saying. "Y'know, it's nice not being the only girl." Looking around, you saw that you were a bit closer to the pillar that Biscuit pointed to.

"It's weird," Gon frowned a bit, looking behind him. "I know we've had other people help us, but for the majority it's just been us three. It's a weird feeling having someone else come with us."

"Well, yeah, but for the summer you were with Wing and Zushi while I was back home," you said, pointing to yourself. "If anything, shouldn't it be weird that I'm here? Actually—don't answer that."

"I know," he whined, cocking his head back, "but it's weirder because she's staying with us. Like, staying staying with us." He propped his head back up again, before smiling a little.

"I get what you're saying," Killua said, stuffing his hands in his pockets, "but I'm sure everything will feel normal soon."

"Should we turn back now?"

"Probably."

And so you did.

When you walked back to where Biscuit was, you noticed two things. One, her left pigtail had been cut off. Two, some maniac was eating her hair. It creeped you out, so you looked away and instead focused on your surroundings.

Before long, Biscuit had called to the three of you. Killua and Gon jumped down the crater she was in, without any hesitation.

Now, you really asked yourself, was dropping down that far really worth it? You might've jumped down five stories before, but you weren't too keen on doing that again. Falling from heights wasn't something you'd ever want to do again, if you were being honest with yourself.

"[y/n]! Are you coming down?" Gon yelled, waving his hand at you. They were halfway to Biscuit, looking back at you.

"Yeah, 'course I am," you laughed out of nervousness. Looking down below, you felt your heart beat in your chest and a feeling settle in your stomach. Swallowing whatever was in your throat, you pushed yourself off. It was a shorter fall than the building was, but you felt fear all the same.

It ended quickly, which led you with shaky legs and uneven breaths. You tried to run to Killua and Gon, decided against it, and walked instead. When you made it up to them, you took a deep breath and exhaled softly. "Was jumping off of tall heights part of the job description? Because I do not remember seeing it," you smiled, shaking your hand.

"Wow, that was...anticlimactic," Killua said, placing his hands on his hips. He shot you a small smile, before holding out his hand. You took it gingerly and hoped he couldn't feel the leftover tremors from before.

He could, and you knew that, but pretended otherwise.

"Alright, here's the deal. In a two week period," Biscuit said, pointing to the bounty hunter on the ground,"he's gonna try to dodge your attacks and if he succeeds, then you three will get punished and he is free to go. If he doesn't, then I will kill him myself."
