"How many medals did you win?" Faizal asked me, his eyes on whatever book he was reading and his fingers skimming through the pages. I rose my eyebrow at him, then leaned back and folded my hand across my chest."I wasn't expecting that question." I replied and he chuckled, finally looking up from the book he was reading and peered at me through those thick rimmed glasses of his.
"We have an entire day to ourselves. Let's take our time, Jamal." He stated, stretching his limbs animatedly. "Except of course you don't enjoy the time you spend with me." He pouted teasingly, batting his eyelids like a Barbie doll that had a malfunction.
"You give yourself too much credit, Faizal." I replied him, a smile tugged at the corners of my lip.
It's been three weeks since we came back from the Olympia, holding the Sports Trophy so high above our heads. A number of us got medals for every sport we participated in and certificates for the ones that participated in the Academic section.
SS3 students weren't really doing anything in school. We were having classes and a few tests but none was really recorded because they were just to prepare us for the upcoming mock exam in January. That's why I was spending my Wednesday in my therapist's office, away from school.
Only Elyon, Skye and Mateo knew I was here.
"Admit it, you enjoy spending time with me." He maintained and I scoffed in reply.
"No, I enjoy spending time with my girlfriend and my sister and my friends..."
"But then, here you are." He gestured around his office, a smirk playing on his lips. He got me, I'll give him that. Faizal can be such a pest sometimes.
"Are you not also supposed to be with your girlfriend?" I asked, a teasing undertone in my voice as I wiggled my eyebrows at him. I swear, I saw him blush but he disguised it with his hand stroking his chin.
"It's work hours. Though, we are meeting tonight." He replied and I made a mock clear of my throat, teasing him.
"Don't do anything I wouldn't do o." I hollered and he laughed, taking the cover of his own and tossing it at me as I joined him in laughter.
Thankfully, Faizal eventually got the balls to ask out the lady he has had his eyes on for a while. They had a good relationship, it was that obvious. I was happy for him but low-key, I want to eat owambe rice.
"Okay, let's be serious though." Faizal's serious voice drew me out of my mind trip and I turned to look at him. He had already taken off his glasses and was leaning his arm against the table, leaning forward.
"How have you been?" He asked me. I sighed, shrugging but I didn't know how to answer that question.
How have I been actually?
I was sorta happy, I guess.
"I think I'm okay. I'm happy." I replied and he squinted at me, not saying anything and it was a go ahead for me to continue. "I have my parents and Skye. I have my friends and I most definitely have Elyon." I added, shrugging again. He hummed in response, taking his own and writing something down.
"What about your relationship with Khalil?" He asked out of the blues. I looked at him for a moment before scoffing out a laughter. That was an unexpected question.
