This is to all my loyal and active readers who messaged me and convinced me to update 🥴. We haven't gotten to the goal yet but then, I can see how much love this book is getting and I wouldn't want it any other way. Thank you so much 🥺❤️.

Things are going to get shaky from here on now. The climax is near and I am hoping it knocks everyone off their feet.

Are you ready?

Christmas and New Year had come and gone and now my family and I were back in Lagos. The Bamidele's were not back yet but Jamal had told me they would be back by the first week of resumption, which meant they were going to miss a few days of school. That was a huge bummer because I have never started a new term without him.

I guess there is a first time to everything.

Another thing that had my mind occupied was the fact that external exams were starting very soon. Mock exam organized by the school to test if we were ready to start the bigger exams would be toward the end of January and at the beginning of February. An email regarding the exam was sent to every parent by the school and my parents won't just shut up about it.

Especially mum.

"Tiwa, when you are done washing the meat and putting them in the pot, you should go back to your room to continue reading." She stated casually, walking away from the freezer with ingredients we were going to use to cook. I rolled my eyes discreetly.

"Mum, I'm fine. Thank you very much." I replied and I felt her pause to look at me, her gaze burning holes in my back.

"See this girl o." Was her instant reply and I sighed, looking away from the bowl of beef to look at her. " Even trying to save you from cooking and you are complaining."

When did I complain bayii? Trust my Mother to be overly dramatic. If you are wondering where Venus got it from, now you have your answer.

"I wasn't complaining na." I defended and she looked at me, her mouth scrunched up. "Shey you don't want me to help you cook ni? I asked her.

"Venus will come and help me. You, go and read." She maintained her stance, dismissing me. I groaned and stump my foot.

"I need a break na. This brain needs to calm down small. Shey you want me to go into mental break down ni?" I asked, my voice teasing but trust a Nigerian mother not to take that last statement in a joking manner.

"Ehn! Mental kini!" Mummy exclaimed in a exaggerated shriek and it took all of me not to laugh.

"God forbid bad thing. Elyon, better stop saying evil things to yourself. I reject it for you in Jesus name." She rambled on, raining heaps and heaps of prayers on me while I continued to say Amen while trying not to laugh.

She finally let me be and allowed me to stay in the kitchen. Any more reading and my head will honestly blow up. At that point, Venus walked, no skipped into the kitchen, her phone resting in her hand.

"Tolulope, you shouldn't bring your phone close to the gas. It's very dangerous." Mum chided and Venus carefully tucked the phone in the pocket of her jeans.

"Is the food ready?" Was what she asked and my head snapped to her.

See this girl o!

"See your mouth like is the food ready?" I snapped at her and she rolled her eyes at me. "Because we are your slave abi. Instead of you to get your tiny ass into this place and help us finish up."
