"Is it me, or are you looking fatter?" Jamal teased, causing the person at the other end of the laptop to burst out laughter, throwing his head back over the headrest of his chair.
"What do you expect when my wife is taking care of me?" He retorted back, the pride and satisfaction he felt was literally dripping from his tone. "Did I tell you she was the one that planned this vacation? Omo, marriage is sweet o!" He drawled, fanning himself dramatically and Jamal laughed, shaking his head.
"Faizal, you make marriage seem so easy." Jamal said and Faizal sat up immediately on hearing that.
"Guy, I've been married four years now and I am not complaining. Sure, there are hard times but if you get married to the right person , the good times will always outweigh the bad times. That is why you, my friend, need to put a ring on that finger soon." Faizal stated matter-of-factly, trying to hint Jamal on proposing to his girl soon. Jamal, on the other hand, looked unsure
"I'm going to. I just don't know if I'm ready for all of that now." He said, leaning back against his chair and folding his hand across his chest. Faizal peered at his former patient through his thick rimmed glasses.
"If you keep saying that, you might never be ready." He pointed out and Jamal sighed. "Is Elyon hinting anything yet?" Faizal asked and Jamal shook his head.
"Not exactly. I might probably be clueless but I'm looking for signs, trust me. But I haven't seen her hint anything on marriage. But don't worry, I have it all figured out." Jamal told Faizal who inturn eyed him skeptically, eliciting a loud laugh from the former.
Faizal looking out for Jamal wasn't a new thing. They did go a long way, their relationship developing from a therapist-patient relationship to a solid friendship for almost fifteen years. They were tight like that, even with the massive age difference. Jamal has always felt in-depted to Faizal for helping him through a lot of tough times. If not for Faizal's last push for him to seek closure, he probably wouldn't have figured things out with his cousin.
"How is Elyon by the way?" Faizal asked, cutting into Jamal's thoughts.m and Jamal's lips stretched into an automatic grin of pride as he thought of his girlfriend.
"She's alright. She's actually in the kitchen right now. We are having this get together dinner with the guys so, she's putting things together. I should be helping her sef." Jamal responded, chuckling afterwards and Faizal joined him.
"You really should. Try to show her that you are a husband material one million yards." He teased and Jamal laughed. "Is he coming?" Faizal asked, causing Jamal's laugh to subside.
"I highly doubt it." Jamal answered, his mood suddenly dampened. "He's been rather aloof this week, but we all understand." He added and Faizal hummed, nodding his head.
