"Sakura!" Hanji shouted, running through the barracks of the scout regiment. She checked every room and couldn't find her, meaning she was probably roaming around.

Hanji ran into the dining hall to see a small girl sitting at table by herself, playing with something in her hand. It was a small piece of bread she was slowly pulling apart. She couldn't eat, she was too worried about her mother. But, when a certain scientist barged into the dining hall, she rose from her seat.

"Sakura! I need you, now!" Hanji was slowly catching her breath, waiting for Sakura to come with her.

"Where's my mom?" Sakura asked, looking to see Hanji staring at her harder than before. She took the small sign she was given and proceeded to follow Hanji to where they were going.

Running through the halls, Hanji had taken the titan girl to the infirmary barracks, looking at the numbers on the doors to find the one she was looking for. The number came into view and Hanji immediately stopped in her tracks.

"In here," Hanji said a little quieter, slowly opening the day. Sakura stepped in the room and looked at the scene in front of her.

Her mother was still in her uniform from when she left for the expedition that morning. Her white shirt was now a deep red and her skin was paler than it normally was. Levi was on both of his knees next to the bed, holding her hand as if he was trying to warm her up.

"W-What happened?" Sakura quickly walked over to her mother and moved her shirt up to see her wound, but what she saw shook her.

There was none.

"That's what we were hoping for you to help us understand." Hanji said, looking at the woman laying in bed. Her chest slowly rose up and down, indicating that she was in fact breathing. "She got stabbed and then after her heart seemed to stop, steam came from her wound and now here we are.

Sakura studied her mother for a second before looking at Hanji.

"Do you have something sharp?" Sakura asked, looking at Hanji who shook her head, but was surprised to see a letter opener in front of the small girl. Levi had took it from his pocket and held it in front of her.

"I won't ask," Sakura mumbled before sitting on the bed next to her mother. She took the metal cap off of the letter opener before bringing it into her palm and drawing a thin line of blood.

"What does this have to do with Ichika?" Hanji leaned over the foot board to get a better look at Sakura's hand.

"Eren spoke to me about the memories he had seen when we were in confinement." Sakura studied her hand before a small amount of steam started to admit from her palm. "I wasn't injected with serum and ate someone to become who I am. It's something in my blood that gives me the ability to heal but only if I want to."

"I'm not sure if I could turn into a titan, but I am a child of one of the 9 titans." The three watched the scar on Sakura's hand slowly close, the steam soon disappearing. "I don't understand the whole science behind it, but I understand that we are the same." She looked over at her unconscious mother.

"I felt her go cold," Levi finally spoke, looking at Ichika's closed eyes "I felt her die, I don't understand."

"Well, I don't either. But I feel it's like how Toshiro and I are connected to one another. We are her kids, so she's connected to us too, right? She probably has the same thing running through her-"

"Are you telling me that sleeping with a titan can transfer it's abilities?" Hanji beamed.

"I'm not sure, I think my dad did this on purpose. That's why he was so eager about Toshiro killing her. He was just trying to protect her," Sakura lightly stroked her mothers knuckles before slowly picking up her hand and turning it over. Levi watched with a protective glare, being patient with her.
