Third Person Perspective

After the court case, Levi called for Ichika to meet him in a room outside the courtroom, where Eren was being held. She didn't think as to why he'd want to talk to her, other than the events of this morning. Once she reached the cellars, she saw Levi stand in front of the couch, and Hanji sitting on the coffee table next to him, staring behind him with interest.

"Captain Levi," She saluted to him as she usually did. "You requested to speak to me."

"Yes, brat, I did." He rolled his eyes and gestured for her to come over to the cell he was standing by and saw Eren, all bloodied and bruised from the court case. She immediately rushed over to him and knelt down next to him in front of Levi.

"Eren, are you feeling okay? I know that shit had to hurt." She thought back to Levi kicking him senselessly during the case to show some sort of discipline of him speaking up.

"It's fascinating! He regenerates much faster than us humans. Look!" Commander Hanji pulled a tissue out of her pocket, revealing a tooth in it, making Ichika flinch. "His tooth already grew back! Do you want to hold it?" Ichika swore she saw her eyes sparkle through her glasses.

"No thank you, section commander." She stood up and put her hand on Eren's hair, softly petting his hair.

"Aw, shortcake you're no fun. Wait a second!" Everyone paused and stared at the crazy lady. "Cadet, are you shorter than Levi?" She asked in excitement. Hayashi turned to Levi, to see their faces centimeters apart. She immedietely backed up towards Eren, causing him to put his hand on her back and stand up next to her, seeing she almost fell. He was a couple of centimeters taller than her but still hovered over her. It made her look even smaller than she actually was.

"Now is not the time foureyes. I called you in here for a reason, brat. I want you to join my squad." Ichika was stunned, this was the last thing she expected to here. Her jaw slightly dropped and her eyes went wide. She hesitated on responsing, thinking about Sakura. Kaiyo is with her, they will be okay. She looked up to Levi's eye level.

"Of course, sir, but could I please ask why?" In all honestly, he wanted her to stay by him, especially seeing the dispute between her and Reiner earlier. He wanted her to learn from him, to be able to fight stronger, fight harder. But besides that, he was too curious about her to let her be in anyone else's squad.

"You will assist us on protecting Eren. I've seen you fight and how much you care about your mates." She still looked confused, that wasn't a great reason. "You were top 3 in your class, obviously you have some type of skill." She wanted to roll her eyes at him, but she couldn't be disrespectful.

"Understood, captain." She saluted to him and Levi gave Hanji a look.

"Alright Eren, let's go get you ready for your travel! I have so many experiments coming in the future!" She grabbed Eren by the wrist and dragged him out of the room, leaving Ichika and Levi alone.

"I want to discuse what happened in the dining hall this morning, brat." He looked at her sternly and crossed his arms over his chest.

She fell silent. What was I supposed to say? He wants to take away the child we made together, even though we are no longer together. Oh, and I let her live in the trainging camp for almsot 5 years? Yeah, no.

"In all honesty captain, Reiner and I were once...together." His face didn't change and she sucked in a breath. "When people separate, they no longer agree with the other." She looked to the floor and shut her eyes. I probably sound like an idiot.

"Why are you two no longer together?" Levi curiously looked at her.

"He left me, years ago." She picked up her head, having a serious yet confident face. Levi tilted his head slightly to the side, studying her once again. She really could put up a good act, almost fooled me. He sighed, he couldn't tell if that was the actual truth or she was making things up.

"Cadet, you know to never lie to a commander?" Levi gave her a questionable look.

"Of course, captain. Everything I said was the truth." But she knew it wasn't the whole truth. But Levi didn't understand it anyhow. He has never loved a woman let alone been in a relationship. He became slightly flustered thinking of a guy like Reiner with a woman like Ichika; he thought she could do better.

"My next question is, who was this "she" you two were talking about?" As soon as he finished his question, he saw all the color drain from her face. He knew he stepped too far getting into her personal business, but he couldn't understand why. He didn't actually care about her, did he? He just met her a few days ago.

"Levi, it's time to get moving." Both the short humans looked at the door to Erwin standing there, waiting for them to follow him again. "Cadet Hayashi, you should pack your belongings, we are headed to the scout facility at dusk." He stepped out of the room, leaving the door open. Levi excuses himself and heads follows after Erwin. Ichika stood in the room, blessing the walls that Erwin came in and prevented her from being pestered with more questions. She sighed of relief and began to head back to her door, when she saw a familiar male blocking her path.

"Why do you keep bothering me, Braun?" Ichika yelled at him as she grew closer to him.

"We never finished our conversation." He looked at both of her hands, double-checking that she wasn't armed with any sort of weapon. "You always looked beautiful with your hair down." He reached behind her shoulder and gently pulls her hair out of her low bun. She cautiously watches his hand. After untwisting her hair, he rests his hand on her cheek, but she slaps it away.

"Why are you here? I told you we don't need you." Ichika looked at him, wanting to punch the smug look off of his face. Why did he have to bother her so much? She thought that when a couple separated they blocked out each other from one's life.

"I told you, I'll make you happy. If you don't want to come, that's a damn shame." His smile dropped and his serious tone came out "I'm taking her with me no matter what."

"Over my dead body, you'll never get to her, not before I do." He grabbed her wrist out of habit and she wrapped her hand around his neck.

"Still as fiesty as the first time I met you." He quickly grabbed his hand off of his neck and held them behind her back, pushing her against the wall with her back to him. "And just as fragile as the first night I spent with you." He whispered into her ear and lightly pressed his body up against her.

"Alright brats, that enough." Ichika was so grateful for Levi's presence. Reiner slowly let go of her and put his hands to his side. Ichika saluted to him and mouthed out a 'thank you' to him. He walked up to her, lightly grabbed her by the arm and guided her into her room.

"You know, this is the second time I've gotten you out of trouble." He said, leaning against the door frame and she began ot throw the few things she had together on her bed.

"I appreciate the save, I could only imagine what he'd do if you didn't come." When she looked up to him, she saw the tears in her eyes just begging to fall. He watched her as she packed up all of her things, thinking quietly to himself;

What did he do to make her so upset over him?
