Poem one: no gods

I used to believe in an omnipotent being,
A god that could descend from heaven
In a swirl of white wings and eternal glory
Bringing wars to a peaceful conclusion,
Helping the dead find their rest.

But there are no gods for the innocent,
No peace for the moral,
No health for the worthy.
Because everything good in this world lies
In the hands of the sinful and wicked,
Leaving nothing for the valiant,
Nothing for those who have given everything.

Writers block is real this week, so enjoy one of Amelia's poems. This one was kind of hurried, so it's not my best work. Regardless, let me know what you think!
