"Yang, trust me."
Tali's sad with a small laugh, resting her head on her girlfriend's chest as they sat at their booth in the dining car.
"If I was in heat, you'd know. Why do you think Blake has been so restless all week?"
Yang chuckled softly looking down at the cat faunus.
"Yeah, I guess so."
She said, smiling softly.
Talia took the opportunity to reach up and pull Yang down towards her in a warm kiss.
Yang's eyes closed as Talia purred gently, running a hand through Yang's long, golden hair. When she broke the kiss, Talia sat up, grinning as she placed a hand on Yang's shoulder.
"You'll get your chance when that time comes, I promise."
Yang gently nipped one of Talia's cat ears affectionately, eliciting a purr from the faunus.
Stretching, Yang stood up and began to walk towards the sleeping car before Talia stopped her.
"Let's give Jason and Blake some more alone time before we go back in there. Something tells me they took our suggestion to... unwind."
Yang smirked as she sat back down.
"Fair point."
Talia turned and looked out the window. The fractured moon was high in the sky now. In the distance, Talia could see a small town, it's lights twinkling in the darkness as the train rolled past. After a long moment, she broke the silence, asking a question that had been on her mind all evening.
"If you don't mind me asking,"
She said, fixing her gaze on the blonde brawler,
"Before me..."
Her voice trailed off.
Yang grinned a little.
"Well, back when I was in Vale, I did have some fun with a few of the guys at Beacon, but when it comes to actual relationships, just you. What about you?"
Talia glanced back out the window for a moment before she answered.
"There was this one guy, a soldier in the Royal Army. Same age as me, really nice deer faunus. We dated for around two years but then he was stationed over in Vacuo, a pretty long way from a Menagerie. We both kinda decided that it wasn't really gonna work with that much distance between us."
"Sorry it didn't work out."
Yang said.
Talia smiled.
"Don't be. We're actually still good friends. I saw him last year when I was in Vacuo. We've both moved on. He found himself a mate, and I,"
Talia kissed Yang's cheek.
"found you."
Yang smiled.
The two talked for a couple of hours or so before Talia glanced at the clock.
1:45 A.M.
Yang yawned as the two stood up and headed towards the sleeping car.
They entered the car slowly, Talia closing the door behind them. The lights were off, the only light coming in through the open window.
Talia glanced over at Jason's bed. Sure enough, Blake was snuggled close to him, covered by the blankets, their arms wrapped around each other.
Yang smiled as she kissed Talia goodnight.
She whispered.
"It's good to see them happy together."
"Yeah."
Talia said, giving Yang a small smile.
Yang climbed into the bottom bunk and pulled the covers over her while Talia climbed the ladder to the top one.
As Talia lay down on her bed, Yang reached up and rested her hand on the ladder. A moment later, she felt Talia's hand hold her's.
The two fell asleep, the room quiet except from the muffled sounds of the train and Blake's gentle purring.
