"Yang!"
Yang glanced towards the sound of the voice as she stepped off the shuttle and onto Vale's landing pad. As she did, she was tackled to the ground by a blur of red.
Yang chuckled as she stood up.
"Glad to see you too sis."
She said, returning Ruby's hug.
The two sisters smiled at one another. It was almost had to believe it had been a full month and a half since they were last together.
Behind Ruby, the rest of the Vale group walked over to greet the group getting off the shuttle.
Blake smiled at Weiss as she stepped off onto the landing pad, followed by Jason.
The female cat faunus rubbed her eyes as the group set off in the direction of the safe house. She hadn't been able to sleep at all the previous night and, as a result, she was incredibly tired.
Blake stumbled slightly as they walked, leaning on Jason for balance.
"You can rest before dinner."
Jason said, putting an arm around her.
"Thanks."
Blake said, her voice tired.
The two groups talked as they made their way through the newly rebuilt city towards the woods.
Blake shivered slightly. It was cold out and her sweatshirt was still in her luggage.
She smiled though as she looked around at the town. Shops that had previously been boarded up were now reopened. People stood around outside, talking to each other. Even the small park in the town square seemed to have fresh flowers and grass growing. The team that had stayed behind to help with the repairs had truly done a fantastic job.
That being said, she still breathed a small sigh of relief when they arrived at the safe house and went inside.
Everything was just as she remembered it, from the comfy sofa and the ornately carved wooden table, to the fore that was roaring on the grate.
Glancing at her friend, Weiss saw how tired Blake was.
"You can go lie down if you want."
Weiss said.
"The master bedroom is free."
Blake smiled and thanked her friend before hefting her bad onto her shoulder and headed down the hallway towards the room, Jason right behind her.
The moment Jason closed the door behind them, Blake took off her shoes, set down her bag, and crawled into bed.
She gave a small groan of contentment as she pulled the covers over her.
Jason sat down on the edge of the bed closest to her, gently running one hand over her cat ears.
"You want me to stay here with you?"
He asked softly.
Blake shook her head.
"It's ok. You don't need to do that."
"Just until you fall asleep?"
Blake thought about this for a moment before she nodded, snuggling down under the blankets as Jason held her hand.
After only a few minutes, Blake smiled to herself as warm waves of sleep washed over her for the first time in what felt like forever.
Blake woke up a hours later to the sound of Jason's voice.
"Come on, Blake. Time for dinner."
She opened her eyes and sat up.
It was already dark outside. A glance at the clock on the bedside table showed it was 8:10 PM.
Stretching and yawning a little, Blake sat up and got out of bed.
She smiled as she entered the dining room.
"Feeling better?"
Talia asked.
"Absolutely."
Blake replied, sitting down and helping herself to some food.
The dinner was delicious. Steak, salad, fish and fresh bread. Blake couldn't help but smile as Jason poured her a glass of wine.
"Thanks."
Blake murmured to Jason before taking a sip.
The group shared stories over dinner, talking and laughing, the stress of the following day momentarily forgotten, staying up late into the night.
