"HEY!" Ella tried to yank her arm back, but he just pulled her along against her will. "STOP IT!" She snapped. "Keep walking." The large man growled. "Tell me what is going on!" She yelped as his hand gripped her tighter. "Kruse wants you." "Obviously, but why?" "Don't know. Just said to get you and drag you to his office if you wouldn't come willingly."
"You never even asked!" "Waste of time." "That is rude. Stop." She dug in her heals and he came to a halt. Ripping her arm out of his grasp, she crossed her arms. "Ask me nicely now." She demanded and the look on his face was a little amusement and a little anger.
"Who do you think you are?" He asked. "Apparently someone important, or Kruse would not have kidnapped me and held me prisoner four levels below the surface. And you know an entire clan of dragons is on its way to save me, which does me make important." She raised an eyebrow, and he opened his mouth, then shook his head.
"Please walk, or I will put you over my shoulder and carry you. Your choice, your highness." He glared and she smiled. "Better." She walked and heard him groan, but she did not look back.
They were getting ready to get into the elevator, when a blaring alarm went off and a large red light lit up the hallway. "FUCK!" He snapped and grabbed her arm. "Come on." He tried to drag her, but another man came up to him with two large guns, causing him to stop.
"Kruse wants you upstairs now. I am supposed to take the girl back to the room and lock her in." The man handed him one of the large guns and reached for her arm. "GO! The dragons are here. There has been a breach." The new guy pointed to the ceiling with the gun and the big man huffed.
"You better lock her up, it's your head if she gets free." "I think I can handle a human chick." The new guy laughed. "Excuse me!" She snapped. "Good luck with that." The bigger guy ran off and she was about to open her mouth when he leaned in close to her ear.
"Lessalynn." He whispered and she smiled. "Come on." The new guy took her hand and pulled her down a hallway, slipping behind a door, into a smaller room. "Where is Jake?" She asked as the man pushed her to the wall and turned off the lights.
"Do not say a word. We wait here." He whispered, his breath was close to her ear and she shivered with anticipation of the dragons finding her. She wanted out of here more than anything. It was cold and smelled of death out here.
Another shiver shook her body, this time because of the screams and banging above her head. "It's ok." He pulled her close to him and wrapped an arm around her. His nose moved along her neck and she tried to move back, but he held her tightly to him.
"Did you just sniff me?" Ella asked in surprise. "Sorry. You smell incredible." "Do not hit on me." "Not that way. I mean, you do that way too, but..." He exhaled and his warm breath danced along her shoulder.
"My name is Samuel." He whispered. "Ella." "I know. Jake told me. Carlyle too. I did not believe them, but now, my wolf feels it." "Feels what?" She squeaked. "Shhh." He stopped moving and they both listened.
Gunfire. So many guns. Ella closed her eyes and said a prayer for all her friends. Jake and Carlyle included. She prayed that they would all make it out, unharmed. Or at least with small injuries. She prayed that there were enough good wolves to help, and that word had reached Allan in time about the safe word.
"Ella, I will get you out of here. Jake, and a bunch of us, we are here to protect you." "Why?" "Just trust us." He whispered. "I do." She leaned back against the wall, as a mighty dragon's roar came and she straightened back up. It was not Ragnar, but it was big, and sounded pissed.
Then a new noise came, a mechanical whining. "Shit." Samuel said. "What is that?" "That is the core of the laser warming up." "We have to help. God, he can't shoot down my dragons." "Easy Ella. There is not much we can do." "Can we stop the laser?" "From the control room maybe, but it's guarded, especially now." He sounded calm and she hated him for it.
