Hi everyone, my style has changed a bit since I will be editing many aspects of this since half of it was written nearly a year ago. The few first chapters will be changing a lot, that's all :))

Death and Gore*Ah... my head hurts... I slowly brought myself to consciousness, my eyes fluttering open as I shifted my position. My pupils immediately dilated when I looked up, the bright light of my lamp causing me to flinch and place my hand over my eyes. I fumbled to find the switch, eventually dimming the light. I fell asleep at my desk. I rubbed the side of my cheek, a slightly red outline of my hand along my skin. I looked to my right to see the notes I had written still hidden under my novel. I slowly stood and dusted myself off. There was a second long pause before I leaned forward and took the book in my hand, courteously sliding the notes inside its cover. Alright...
This better work.
"Good morning Shuichi!" I was greeted by Kaito the moment I entered the dining hall. "Good morning." I started to walk over to the others, but before grabbing a seat I passed Kokichi. "Hey, I have a book for you. I think you'd really like it! Here, take it." I leaned down and presented the novel to him. He giggled and looked back up to me, "Read? That's not really my style, I'll leave the reading up to a nerd like you~" His tone was playful, but his smile faded when he noticed my stern look. "Won't you at least give it a try?" I asked bluntly, almost commanding him to take the book from my hand. He hesitantly reached out and took the book, his expression a mixture of confusion and curiosity. I got myself a seat and silently watched him open the book from across the table. His eyes moved over the lines quickly, a grin starting to form on his face. "I'm done eating now, see the rest of you later~"
The boy pushed himself off his chair and tucked the book under his arm, quickly making his way to the exit. Perfect. I chatted with the others for a couple of minutes before getting up myself, making sure there was a long enough pause between our dismissals so no one to get suspicious. "I'll be back, I've got to use the restroom." I tried my best to not look like I was hurrying as I advanced to the dining hall's entrance. Ok, he should be here- I pushed through the doors to find Kokichi sitting on the bathroom's floor, flipping through the book. He brought his attention up to me and sighed as I entered the room. "Shuichi you took so long! I was so bored I started actually reading your dumb book." I smiled and shut the door behind me, making sure we definitely couldn't be seen by any cameras. "So why did you leave that note asking me to come here?" Kokichi questioned. "I've decided on what I want to do." I walked over to the boy and slumped against the wall, slowly sliding down it until I reached the floor. I took the book from his hands and held it upside down, shaking out its contents. Kokichi's eyes widened as more and more notes fluttered from the book and rested on the ground.
"I'm not going to stand by and let Angie's death be for nothing."
...
I spent the next few minutes explaining my plan to the eager boy, going over each detail and aspect as well as I could. When I had finished, Kokichi stared back at me with an excited look. "You think we can pull something like that off?" He questioned me as his eyes moved over the notes, reading each one individually. "I'm sure of it. If everyone agrees to play their role, then we can definitely do this. And maybe..." I used my hand to take Kokichi's chin and slowly turn him to look at me, a pinkish hue washed over his cheeks.
I used my other hand to intertwine our fingers and squeeze his hand gently, gazing at him as my heart pounded in my ears. "This will be what it takes for us to beat this game. We can do this together, and as long as you help me... I'm sure we'll pull this off." Kokichi's eyes shimmered as he looked into mine, a heartwarming expression overcoming his face. He tilted his head to nuzzle his face into my hand, giggling against it as he smiled. "Only if it's for you, Shuichi." My heart seemed to skip a beat in that second. And there it was, the perfect moment to tell him. No... not yet. "G-Good! I'm glad you'll help me..."
Another perfect opportunity... missed.
...
Ok, now I just have to find Kiibo. Kokichi took two of the letters I had written and I took three, we both agreed we would give them to each person they were addressed to. That is, without getting caught. Each letter included detailed instructions for the specific student, for my plan to work everyone has to follow them correctly. There were only two people I didn't write letters for, specifically Tsumugi and Korekiyo. I don't have anything against them, it's just they wouldn't be able to contribute too much to this plan. "Ah, Kiibo!"
I waved Kiibo down before he could turn the corner, noticing him in the hallway before the library. He paused and turned as I rushed down the hall to catch up with him. "You're just the person I was looking for!""Really?" He seemed a bit surprised by my sudden appearance, yet I wasted no time presenting the letter to him. I slyly positioned my back to the cameras and held out my book in front of us, opening it to chapter four. Tucked inside the book was Kiibo's letter, folded nicely with his name written across the front. "What's this for-" "Don't bring any attention to it. Take the book and read the letter when you're alone, please listen to the instructions inside." I whispered in a low tone just to make sure no one else could hear me. Kiibo looked up at me, then down to the letter. He hesitated for a second before giving me a slight nod and taking the book from my hands. He put it under his arm and smiled, silently indicating he would be willing to help with whatever I needed.
This... might actually work.
I waited with Kokichi in the dining hall for what seemed like hours on end, just staring at the clock to watch the minutes tick by. I watched anxiously as the clock reached 2:00 pm, meaning my plan should be jumping into action any second now. Just then, a sudden noise erupted from down the hall, a pained scream of agony coming from the A/V room.
I knew exactly who it came from.
A few seconds passed by of pure silence, the only sound being the slight tick of the clock rhythmic to my heartbeats. 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10- another scream arrived just in time, shrivel and easily convincing. To be honest, Maki's quite the actor. "Let's go," While standing from my chair I took Kokichi's arm, bringing him towards the door. The halls were almost completely silent now, almost as if something was waiting for us around the corner. Luckily, the hall was just as empty as the dining hall. My plan must have been working.
I let out a relieved sigh when I noticed Kiibo standing in the library, his back to the hidden door next to the bookcase. "Are you ready?" I smiled lightly and rubbed the back of my neck, nervously watching his expression. "Yeah... just don't get caught." Kiibo looked considerably calm, but not even close to being as relaxed as Kokichi. "We won't get caught! I'm the master of heists and I doubt Shuichi's plan will fail us." Kokichi replied in a teasing tone, somehow unbothered by what we were about to do. "Alright Kiibo, whenever you're ready," The other nodded before pressing his palm against the door's handle. Kokichi and I watched as his hand started to glow a blueish color, a small shock running down his arm and to the knob. Click. Thanks to Kiibo's ability to take control over the electronically controlled lock, the door was now open.
I gestured thanks to Kiibo before quickly turning the knob and pushing the door open. The room was pitch black inside. I nodded to the others and they both took out their flashlights, I followed right after. I was the first to step into the room, my flashlight was casting an amber glow over the cabinets and shelves all lined up on the wall. The door shut quietly behind us as we fully committed to the plan. Kokichi moved to one of the shelves and slightly tilted a box forward to look inside. His eyes went wide.
"Shuichi... you were right." My heart skipped a beat as I shined my flashlight into the box the reveal its contents. In perfect order, were files. Hundreds and hundreds of files. I felt a smile wash over my face. I looked back up to Kokichi, and then to Kiibo. "Well, let's get to work—"
"—We've got a mystery to solve."
