Shuichi POV~

Hold on... canceled?!

"And no, I won't be taking any questions on that! So, please return to your daily duties. Don't waste any time with the investigation, there's no point!"

The speakers cut out as soon as Monokuma was done, leaving the hall completely silent. My throat felt dry at the thought, the sudden development causing a shiver to run down my back. A trial can't be canceled?! What the hell is going on- suddenly, I felt a quick breeze along my neck. My eyes shifted to my left to watch as Kokichi booked it down the hall, running back in the direction we had come. "Kokichi! Where are you-" He quickly disappeared around the corner before I could finish. Damnit! I rushed after him, taking a hurried left as he did. My shoes skid along the floor and almost caused me to slip, but I caught myself and continued after him. The halls were completely empty, it was just me, chasing after this boy. Where is he going?? I turned another corner to see Kokichi standing still in the center of the passage, looking down a different hallway quietly. I slowed down as I approached him, an unreadable expression over his face. I stood next to the boy, my eyes tracing his gaze down to the floor. Wait a minute- that's when I realized. That's where the body was.

Angie's body is... gone.

"H-How..." Angie had disappeared, the blood that had covered her body completely gone as well. The floor, the wall, all of it had been cleaned. Even the dagger I had removed from her back was now missing. I immediately felt an anxious feeling start to build up inside me, my thoughts beginning to swirl while I stared at the empty floor. How could something like this even happen? She's actually- "Shuichi," Kokichi looked up to me, his lavender eyes filled with concern. "I think someone's trying to cover up."

...

Soon, the group had fully gathered around the discovery sight. Well, everyone except for Himiko and Tenko. "Hold on, you mean to tell me you left the body for just one minute, and the next it's gone without a trace??" Kaito was just as confused as the rest of us, everyone in complete shock. "We left to find you guys, but the moment that announcement ended Kokichi and I ran here as fast as we could. We turned the corner and it was gone, everything cleaned as if it had never happened." I spoke up in response to Kaito, his eyes now weary. "What was that announcement even in regards to?" Korekiyo slowly advanced from behind the group, presenting himself so everyone could see him. "A trial can't be canceled, correct?" Well, I thought the same, but it seems I was mistaken. "From what Monokuma said, I guess they can." Kokichi shrugged his shoulders, keeping himself considerably calm for the current situation.

"You kids sure are nosy!"

I quickly turned to see Monokuma on a glowing screen, looking over the students with an unpleased look. "W-Wait, how is the trial canceled? Angie was murdered, so we-" I stammered, but Monokuma quickly put my protest to an end.

"Personally, that's not of your business detective. You should all feel lucky that you don't have the risk of going through a trial! Besides, it's already past sleeping hours, all of you need to get back to your rooms. Bye-bye!"

Before I could even try and speak up, the screen went black, leaving that hall to its original dim state. This isn't right... "We should probably listen to Monokuma, trying to fight with him never ends well." Maki brushed her hair from her shoulders as she spoke. "Shuichi, what do you think?" I paused for a second as the group turned to me, everyone waiting for my answer. I hate having all this pressure on me... "Uh- yeah, I guess it would be better to just let this go." I tilted my head a bit to look at Kokichi, who was completely ignoring my gaze. He was observing the floor where the body had been, his eyes moving over each detail. Yet... I know for sure he won't give up on this. Everyone nodded and silently started to disband. "Kokichi, let's get you back to your room."
