*This Chapter Includes Gore, Death, Weapons, Etc.*
Shuichi POV~The halls were so quiet, practically mute. The only sound that could be heard were my shoes harshly hitting the floor as I ran through those silent halls, my heart pounding against my ribs. I could hear it in my ears, almost feel the way my body was pushing me to run faster, but I felt as if I was going nowhere. Someone is dead, and there was only one person I could imagine it could possibly be.
Kokichi.
My breathing was strained and lost, gasping for a chance to catch a breath as I stumbled hopelessly through the halls. They felt endless and cold as I tried to reach his room, screaming to myself within my thoughts. Why did I leave him when something was clearly going on? I was so paranoid I felt I was driving myself crazy, so I decided to just let it go. But now, my transparentness could be the reason someone is dead... just like my dream. That feeling of the walls melting away around me, all the sounds just vanishing as I drowned in the feeling of despair. Seeing him dead was just... it's too much. And I had a chance to protect him, even a warning to do so! And I let go. But now...
That's when I heard it. An ear splitting scream that made me stop dead center of the hallway. Where did that come from? My eyes shot around the hall, observing each detail as quickly as my mind would let me process. That door is... open. I felt my feet begin to move, bringing me closer to the room. Please. Please don't be him. Please let me believe it isn't real. Please...
And there he was. That small, fragile boy with the soft purple hair. The boy I had so hopelessly followed and believed, sat there on the floor...
Right behind Miu's lifeless body.
Covered in her blood, his head tilted to the floor. His hair fell down to hide his face, his hands shaking slightly. The floorboards were painted with thick blood, splattered in every direction. Kaito stood before him, astounded and lost for words, just as I was. Himiko had stopped near the door by me, her hand covering her mouth. It was clear to me now the scream came from her. "I-" I refocused my gaze on Kokichi, who began to speak up after the eerie silence. His voice was shaky and almost distant. "I didn't do this." Following his words, he brought his eyes up from the floor to meet mine. His face was pale, and tears fell from his wide, traumatized eyes, streaming down his face and rolling off his chin. "I swear..."
There was another moment of silence that followed the boy's testament. "What... What happened here??" I tilted my head a bit to see Tenko and Angie staring at the scene from the hall, both of them just as shocked as the rest of us. "We heard the announcement, and then a scream- is that Miu?!" The girls noticed the bloodied corpse that laid on the floor, belonging to Miu. "Yeah... yeah, it is." Kaito responded. I was still too petrified to say anything. I hadn't even moved from my place at the door, my hand slowly slipping off its frame and falling to my side. Why... why is he covered in her blood? Why was he so scared we would blame him for this? Did he have something to do with this? What is going on?? My mind continued to race as The others rushed into the room and made their way to Miu. Shit... I feel so sick right now. I can't control my thoughts or anything... the room has this rusty smell of blood that's grown much too familiar in these past weeks. The horror across everyone's face as they examine the dead body seems like second nature by now. But this feeling I have is remotely new... the realization that Kokichi very well may be the culprit.
Soon, the room was filled with the other students. Maki and Rantaro arriving from the left, Korekiyo, Kiibo, and Tsumuji entering from the right. Once we had all arrived and excepted that Miu had been slaughtered by one of us, accusations started to get thrown around. "Look, I walked in here to find Kokichi over her dead body covered in blood, how could it not be him?!" Kaito was very expressive over his opinion on Kokichi being the killer, and the others all seemed to silently agree. "You have to believe me, I didn't do this!" Kokichi pleaded "I'm not lying! I came in here and found her like this, I tried to help her but she was already-" "That's bullshit!" Kaito didn't let Kokichi finish his explanation, instead interrupting him to put his own in place. "First off, why would you even come to Miu's room in the first place? And second, you would never try to help Miu, or let alone anyone!"
