XXIII. War Part 2

"Jimin!" A voice bellowed out to the blond merman.

Jimin looked away from Yoongi and saw his brother, Chanyeol swimming towards them.

"Nancy." He said.

Jimin nodded and looked back at Yoongi. "I have to go." He said before he swam away but the human grabbed his harm.

"Jimin, what are you going to do?" Yoongi asked.

Jimin looked at him and saw fear and confusion dancing around his dark eyes.

"I have to get the trident." He answered. "It is the only way to stop this war."

He watched the human gawked at him and shook his head. "It's too dangerous. She will kill you on sight." He said.

Jimin sighed. "Yoongi—"

"No! If you are going to face her, then let me come with you." The commodore protested as he glared at him.

"Yoongi, you have to continue to fight here. Protect Royaume."

"But why you?"

"The Sea King appointed me to retrieve the trident. He trusted me." He answered.

Yoongi's eyes widened and shook his head in disbelief. Jimin expected that reaction and it broke his heart when he saw it personally.

"Jimin —"

Jimin cupped his face with his webbed hands. "I am scared of losing you." He said sternly as he looked at him in the eyes.

"I have to do this so that you and your people will be safe." Jimin said and his face softened as he rubbed his thumb on the human's pale cheek.

They stared at each other for a moment and then, Yoongi sighed in defeat. He glared at him as if he dared Jimin to do something idiotic, he was getting consequences. "Do not die."

Jimin smiled softly and nodded. "So do you." He gave the commodore a chaste kiss before he left him with his brother.

Chanyeol and he dove in the sea. His older brother glared at him. "You have so much explaining to do once this is over."

Jimin rolled his eyes. "It is a karma for not telling me that King Seokjin was our cousin and I just embarrassed myself in front of him."

King Chanyeol scoffed. "It is your fault for sleeping throughout the lesson about our family history with the Kims."

"Then, do minimize those lewd noises with Prince Baekhyun or cast a spell to make the walls sound proof." Jimin retorted and smirked as he watched King Chanyeol stutter and he bet that his cheeks were red.

"Come on, brother. We have a war to end."

They looked ahead and saw the sirens heading towards them.  The brothers raised their weapons and fought their way.

Yoongi avoided the sirens as he swam back to the shore. Once he felt the sand touching his hands, he crawled out and collapsed, laying on his back, breathing heavily.

He felt the rain pouring on his face and the cold air on his skin. He heard footsteps coming towards him. He opened his eyes and saw King Namjoon hovering him.

"Are you okay, Commodore Min?" He asked as he knelt down to his side.

"A siren grabbed and pulled me in to the sea." Yoongi answered and looked down at his left leg. "I managed to stab that b*tch before she could eat me until another one tried to eat me but I was saved by a merman."
