Luna Day — that celebration for the mermans happened when the moon was full and its silvery light illuminated powerfully on the evening sky.

Pearls and shells decorated on their bodies in the occasion. The kingdom was joyous and lively with music and the mermans dancing in the street. The guppies were playing around with laugh and squeals of glee.

Jimin was dragged around by an excited Jungkook. Currently, they're in a stall filled with jewelries: rings, bracelets, necklaces and earrings.

"Jimin, do you think Taehyung will like this?" Jungkook asked as he pulled out a pair of dangling earrings.

There were two chains and each end had pearls: one was white and the other was the black pearl.

"I don't know, Jungkook." Jimin relied with a shrug. "Taehyung is good in anything."

Jungkook hummed in agreement and looked back at the earrings. "True." He mumbled with a pout. "Even though if he was just wearing no accessories, he would still be so handsome."

Then, an old mermaid swam toward them with a small smile. She was stout with a dark pink tail. "Prince Jimin, Sir Jungkook, it's an honor to see you." She said with a bow.

"Hello." Jungkook replied with a bunny smile as Jimin waved.

The old mermaid then looked at the earrings Jungkook picked and Jimin could see her dark eyes sparkled.

"It's that for Prince Taehyung?" She asked as she pointed at the accessories.

Jungkook smiled and nodded enthusiastically. "I want to buy a gift for him." He answered.

The old mermaid giggled. "You picked well, Sir Jungkook."

She then looked back at the earrings. "The black pearls are very rare because usually, all the pearls are white." She explained.

"Whoa! I'll take it." Jungkook said and paid her.

"Thank you. Have a nice day, you two." She said as she bowed at them.

Jungkook and Jimin left the stall and saw the mermans gathering up in the plaza, dancing as they followed the flow of the music.

The younger gasped and dragged Jimin towards there. Jimin yelped at the speed of Jungkook's pace. "Let's dance, Jimin!"  He exclaimed.

The both of them began to dance and giggled at the same time.

Suddenly, a scream was heard in the crowd. The music stopped abruptly and the mermans halted. They frantically looked around to find the one who screamed.

Then, there was another and this time, it was a young mermaid as she pointed out with her eyes widened at where she looked.

"SIRENS!"

"THEY ARE BACK AGAIN!"

The mermans looked up and saw a group of sirens swimming towards the kingdom like a class of fishes. The mermans panicked and quickly swam away.

The warriors came and charged the sirens with a battlecry.  Some of them escorted the people out of the danger.

"Jimin, let's go back to the palace and warn the king." Jungkook said sternly with a serious face.

Jimin and Jungkook held hands and swam through the crowds. They bumped others and nearly let go of their hands but Jungkook had an iron grip that made Jimin fear that he might broke his hand.

Once they made it to the palace, they barged in the throne room and saw King Seokjin pacing back and forth.

"Your majesty!" Jungkook exclaimed and the king stopped pacing and looked up to them. "The Sirens are here!"

"It's a good thing I've been prepared for this chaos." The king said and averted his eyes to Jimin.

Jimin looked back with a worried look but the king ignored and looked back at Jungkook.

"Your comrades are taking Royal Park Family and the rest of them to the safe house, do you know where it is?" The king asked and Jungkook gave him a curt nod.

"Good. Take Prince Jimin there and protect them at all cost."

"But, what about you?" Jungkook asked.

Seokjin smiled slightly and shook his head. "As a King of Korallia, it is my duty to protect my people and not hide like a coward." He explained and his face went back being stoic.

Jungkook nodded hesitantly and looked at Jimin. "Let's go."

They were about to leave but the king stopped them. "Before you go, I have a favor, Prince Jimin."

Seokjin swam in front of Jimin. Unexpectedly, the king hesitantly took his pearl ring and looked at it sadly. He kissed the ring with his eyes closed.

The king gestured to give him his hand and Jimin did with hesitance. The pink merman put the ring on his palm like it's made of glass and pushed fingers to close it.

"When the battle is over, please, give it to him." He whispered and looked at Jimin in the eyes. "And... Tell him that I always loved him and I was sorry."

The golden merman could see sorrow and hopeless in the king's eyes. He  knew that the king knew that he would not see his lover from above again. It was heartbreaking.

Seokjin swam back a little. "You may go."

"Why can't you just come with us?" Jimin asked and gave him a defiant look. "What would he think?"

"I'm sorry but I can't, Jimin." The king replied as he shook his head and leaned into his ear. "You are going to be a great ruler."

Jimin's eyes widened and shook his head. "No, I—"

"Go, before the sirens find you." The king said.

Jungkook grabbed Jimin's hand and pulled him to the hallway. Jimin looked back at the king and saw him smiling sadly at him. If they were on the land, he would see the tears falling down from his aesthetic face.

He peaked inside his fist and saw the pearl ring and thought, ' This is going to break the Land King's heart.'

Luna day was supposed to be celebrated with joy but now, it was a chaos with the orchestra of screams of terror and cries of lost.
