The next morning, in the bustling village, the people were starting their day - opening the shops, firing up the chimney and greeting each other.
Yoongi came out of his house and looked at the people doing their own business. He clutched his satchel and looked back at his mother, who was cleaning the table, with a smile.
"Mom! I'm going out." Yoongi exlcaimed.
His mother looked up at him with a smile adorned her beautiful face and waved at him.
"Be careful!" She replied and watched her son walking out of the house.
Yoongi ran to the shore and stopped in front of the sea just to take a deep breath of salty air. He then walked to the rocky side of the shore and carefully stepped over them from slipping.
The boy saw the cave and walked toward it. He looked around to see the coast was clear before he walked inside the mouth of the cave.
"Jimin! It's Yoongi." Yoongi hollered and his voice echoed in the dark cave.
He heard a gasp and a splash. "Yoongi?" Jimin peeked behind the boulder.
Yoongi smiled and approached him. He sat beside Jimin and began to fumble his hand in his satchel. Out of curiosity, Jimin looked over his shoulder - Yoongi took out a roll of bandage.
"Let me see your wound." Yoongi said softly - turning to face the merboy.
Jimin nodded and scooted closer to the human boy. Yoongi slowly unwrapped the cloth and gasped when he saw the wound slightly healed.
"H-How?" He asked and looked at Jimin - flabbergasted by it.
"We, merpeople, heal faster than humans." Jimin explained with a giggle.
Yoongi nodded and put the bandage back in the satchel. "I guess you don't need to be rebandanged." He then looked back up at Jimin.
"Once you're fully healed, maybe tomorrow, you can go back to your home." Yoongi said with a sad smile.
At first, Jimin was excited to go back to Southern Alcyoneum but he was sad because he knew that he wouldn't return here to see his friend again.
"Enough being sad. Let's play!" Yoongi said with his gummy smile.
Jimin smiled back and nodded.
Throughout the day, the two boys played as their laughs echoed in the cave until it was time for the human boy to go back to the village.
The sun was slowly setting - disappearing in the blue sea.
"Do you really have to go?" Jimin asked sadly - still wanting to play with the human boy more.
Yoongi frowned and sighed. "I'll come back tomorrow, Jiminie. Don't worry." He replied and ruffled the merboy's curly blonde hair - which made Jimin giggle.
"See you tomorrow, Yoongi!"
Yoongi smiled at him before he walked out of the mouth of the cave - going back to the village while Jimin crawled back to his hiding spot again.
