Chapter 17: Closure

...Back to Present Time...

"That... was a long story..." Reaper muttered out as he puts a hand on his head, still trying to process everything that Error had told them. "I would be lying if I say that I would like to forget all of it... I still have to end things and bring back everything else... otherwise..." Error spoke but was cut off by Geno in the end... "The world will be covered in nothing but darkness..." Geno said sadly as Error just sigh and nodded.

"Why didn't you ever tell me? I could have helped!" Geno asked as Error let out another sigh, "I didn't want you to get involved and never thought nor predicted that it would go this far Geno... Nightmare thought that I could never make a vaccine, but once he noticed that my efforts were finally in closure, he must have gone wild and now basically this." Error explained himself as he paces back and forth, stopping himself in his frustrated tracks and leans on the wall to relieve himself.

The three have gone silent as they all have their own thoughts. Error was glad that he was able to tell Geno everything, Geno was now thinking of what's next for them to do since they have now found the professor, and Reaper was still processing Error's story... until he remembered the part where Error mentioned about the curse. "The... curse!" Reaper exclaimed, getting the two other's attention. "The curse! Er- is there a cure or rather, can this curse of mine can be broken?" Reaper asked with a bit of hope laced in his voice. Error raised his brows, "There is- But, the King, Nightmare himself has to be the one who has to lift that said curse..." Error said as Reaper's hopeful attitude faded bitter. "So... let's stop him soon enough..." Geno said with a cheery tone, looking at Reaper with a sympathetic smile, Reaper looked at her and let out a sigh and nodded.

"Still can't believe you got yourself a boyfriend in seven months..." Error muttered as he left the room, Reaper snickered at his words as Geno just pouted, "It's not my fault that he's the first nice guy I've seen in my entire life." Geno said bluntly as Error peeked his back in the room, "Nice guy? What about me?" he said with a grin, "A GUY MY AGE PROFESSOR!" Geno yelled as Reaper just laughs at them and Error also laughed along, "I was just joking Gen, and he better be treating you right. And you two will stay here for at least two nights, Reaper quite loss a bit of himself during that fight." Error said as he finally left.

"Loss myself? Man... was it that bad huh?" Reaper sighed as Geno nodded and embraced the other, "You had me worried there..." Geno whispered to him as Reaper also wrapped his arms around his lover. "For now, we'll stay here for a while for you to recover and for the professor to pack his items." Geno said as they let go of their short embrace and Reaper just nodded. He leaned his head down to Geno's chest, his arms still locked with his partner's waist. Reaper feels awfully exhausted and in pain, guessing a bit of that demonic energy in him drained his own life. Geno placed her lips, kissing Reaper's forehead, gently soothing the other as she combs her fingers in Reaper's hair, now just lulling him to sleep. "Call me childish... But... I like this..." Reaper muttered softly as Geno just giggles at him, "Get some rest now Reaper..." Geno replied as Reaper closes his eyes, "Goodnight, Geno... I love you..." Reaper lastly said as he sleeps, "I love you too..." Geno replied with a smile as she too slowly falls asleep sooner.

"Now would you look at that..." Error muttered to himself with a sympathetic smile plastered on his face, "I miss you Ink... And I'm still holding onto that promise... I'm just so sorry that's it's been a long 40 years..." Error said as he looks over to his work, the vaccine now at 97%. Error let out a heavy sigh as he thinks for a moment, "Nightmare is going to go on a rampage soon enough... I know it... But this time... He'll be the one falling back..." Error said as he resumes a bit on a few more things in the lab...
