49 | Confessions

After school was dismissed, Soobin headed towards the hospital Yeonjun was currently admitted at. He learnt his lesson from the last time and made it a point to always call Mr Jang whenever he got off from school.

Soobin decided to buy a bouquet for the male from a flower shop inside the hospital. After paying for the flowers, he headed towards Yeonjun's room which was on the 3rd floor in the east wing of the hospital.

As Soobin reached the room, he noticed 2 guards standing on each side of the door.

"Password?" The taller one asked Soobin.

"What?" He replied,  little confused.

"If you don't know the password then you are strictly prohibited from entering, Mr Choi has no time to entertain his fans," The other one spoke.

Just as Soobin was about to call Yeonjun, the male opened the door as he walked out of the room.

"Oh, Soobin! It's okay, he's allowed to enter, " Yeonjun explained. The guards gave Soobin a nod and made way for the male to get inside the room.

"Sorry about that, just following what you said- and you're right, it's good to take some extra precautions," Yeonjun said, once the two were inside the room.

"Oh- by the way, this is for you," Soobin said, handing the male the bouquet he was holding.

"Thank you," Yeonjun smiled as he sat back down on his bed, he carefully placed the bouquet on top of the drawer on his right, admiring it for a few moments before switching his phone back on.

"Oh, and the password is one dream. Just thought I'd tell you that in case you're planning to visit me again tomorrow after school,"

Soobin gave Yeonjun a nod and made himself comfortable in an armchair, just then, Bang Si Hyuk entered the room along with Secretary Kim.

"Oh, Bang PD-nim!" Yeonjun greeted, Soobin waved at him as well.

"Hello! Yeonjun I brought something for you," Bang Si Hyuk said, taking out a box of chocolates from the gift bag he was carrying.

"Wahhh, you really didn't have to- but thanks!" Yeonjun thanked, helping himself to a piece of chocolate.

"Oh, who gave you those flowers?" Bang Si Hyuk asked, pointing to the bouquet.

"My boyfri- I mean Soobin," Yeonjun corrected quickly, feeling Soobin's glare resting on him from across the room.

"You were saying?" Secretary Kim asked, not bothering to stifle the grin on her face.

"Uh- the thing is... I've been meaning to tell you this but, Soobin and I are dating," Yeonjun admitted. Soobin squirmed in the armchair, feeling his cheeks burn slightly.

Bang Si Hyuk choked on his water, he quickly patted his chest trying to comprehend what the male just said. Secretary Kim, on the other hand, didn't look the slightest bit surprised by the news.

Bang Si Hyuk looked from Yeonjun to Soobin then to Secretary Kim as if he was waiting for someone to shout "sike". No one did.

"Oh, you weren't joking- well may your relationship be blessed with happiness and joy," Bang Si Hyuk said, giving the two a reassuring smile.

"Yoy aren't mad at me?" Yeonjun asked, astonished as to how well he handled the news, "Well, it's just that I've always thought you were against anyone from our agency dating,"

"I may be your boss but to me, you're like a second son. Yeonjun, you're a full-grown adult, of course, I'd give you some freedom," He replied with a chuckle.

Both Soobin and Yeonjun smiled at Bang Si Hyuk, just then, another knock on the door was heard. Dr Lee entered the room, peeping through the door.

"Oh! I hope I wasn't interrupting anything," He said.

"Uncle Lee!" Yeonjun greeted.

"Well I guess that's my cue to head out, I'll see you some other time Yeonjun," Bang Si Hyuk said as he and Secretary Kim got up to leave.

"For a second I thought you weren't planning to visit me," Yeonjun said in a joking manner once Dr Lee had entered the room.

"Of course I would! But that wasn't the only reason why I'm here, Soobin, could I speak to you for a moment?" Dr Lee asked, turning to the male.

"Oh, of course," Soobin said, suddenly feeling as if his insides were tied into a knot. The two got up and left the room.

Dr Lee led Soobin to a park inside the hospital where they sat on a bench.

"Want one?" Dr Lee asked, extending his hand to Soobin which was holding a bottle of iced coffee.

"Sure- thank you," Soobin said, taking the drink from him and immediately taking a sip in an attempt to calm his nerves.

He has heard about Dr Lee from Yeonjun a couple of times, how he was playing as a parent role in Yeonjun's early years. Being called all of a sudden by this man made Soobin feel a little uneasy- it felt as if he was meeting Yeonjun's father in a way.

"Don't worry, Yeonjun has already told me all about the dating rumours and whatnot," Dr Lee said, almost as if he read the male's mind. "To be honest, I was a little shocked at first, thinking that he would fake being in a relationship, I wasn't too pleased to hear that," He continued.

The knots in Soobin's stomach just grew tighter.

"Then he told me how you two were dating for real now. Which made me a little skeptical.  As a celebrity, you're often wary about who you be friends with, you have to question that person's intentions before fully being able to trust them," Dr Lee said.

Soobin took another sip of the coffee, it felt as if he was about to get rejected by Yeonjun's guardian and be asked to leave the relationship.

"But Yeonjun has told me all about you, and by the way, he describes you it's obvious that he loves you dearly. To sacrifice his own safety for you already says a lot,"

"Shortly after Yeonjun's mother died, his father committed suicide, unable to bear her sudden death. So Yeonjun became an orphan at a very young age, without any siblings either. I played as a father figure in his life since he was fairly young, you could imagine how traumatic that event must've been to him,"

Soobin has heard of Yeonjun's father passing away shortly after his mother, but he never would've guessed it was because he took his own life for it.

"I'm glad he met someone like you, Soobin, to say the very least. At least now he'll have a person that will care and love him. Which just brings me to my one request: please take care of him for me, I am becoming of age and when I'm gone, someone will have to look after Yeonjun for me," Dr Lee requested, turning to Soobin.

"I will. Thank you, Dr Lee," Soobin said, his dimples clearly visible.

"You can call me Uncle Lee now, no need to be so formal," The older replied, letting out a chuckle.

After bidding their goodbyes, Soobin headed back to Yeonjun's room where the male sat on his bed with his arms crossed.

"What did you two talk about? Must it be so important that you have to excuse me?" Yeonjun asked in a joking matter, his lips forming a pout.

"He just told me to take care of you that's all," Soobin said, settling beside the male.

"As if you aren't doing that already," Yeonjun said, wrapping his arm around Soobin.

"You think so?" Soobin asked. Yeonjun nodded and gave Soobin a light kiss on the forehead.

"I love you," Yeonjun said softly, just low enough for only Soobin to hear.

"I love you too," Soobin replied
