3 | Bang PD-nim's Surprise

With the ring of the elevator, the doors slid open as Yeonjun made his way towards his room, where his secretary would usually come in to inform him about his schedule for the day. Just as he was taking his coat off, a knock on the door was heard.

"Come in!" He called out.

The door in front of him swung open as a stubby man dressed in an entirely black fit with rimmed glasses entered the room.

"Ah! Bang PD nim what brings you here?" Yeonjun asked as he quickly bowed down to greet his boss.

"Yeonjun, by any chance, have you read any news on the media recently?" asked Bang Si Hyuk. To hear his boss coming into his room the moment he had arrived while asking him such a question in a "calm" tone made Yeonjun feel slightly anxious. Did he do something wrong?

"No... why do you ask?" replied Yeonjun, pressing his lips together.

Without saying anything, Bang Si Hyuk gestured the male to come closer as he passed him the tablet he was holding.

Confused, Yeonjun took the device from the older's hands as he took a glance at the tablet. A media article was shown on the screen with the headline: Choi Yeonjun is not attracted to women? And below it, a subheading that was underlined, reading: "'I'm not attracted to women.'" Yeonjun gaped at the sight he just saw, for some reason, the phrase "'I'm not attracted to women,'" sounded oddly familiar... Just where had he said—or heard about it?

"Yeonjun, this is not the only article that has been published about you and your sexual orientation," spoke Bang Si Hyuk calmly, "last night, right after your interview with the Evening Show, hundreds- no, THOUSANDS of articles immediately reported about that single phrase you said," he continued, phrasing his words carefully as having the younger to have a breakdown at that moment was the last thing he wanted.

"You mean the phrase... 'im not attracted to women?'" Yeonjun asked reluctantly.

Bang Si Hyuk just nodded in response. There was a brief moment of silence between the two.

"Oh my goodness. Bang PD nim, I'm so sorry—I shouldn't have said that! For real I'm trul—"

"Yeonjun, I didn't come here to tell you anything negative," reassured Bang Si Hyuk, "in fact, you're actually gaining more publicity!"

"I'm wha—"

"Look! Hundreds of articles about this weren't just written by local journalists, but from all across the globe!" He said enthusiastically.

"So... you are not mad at me?" Asked Yeonjun, feeling as if what his boss was saying about him at that very moment sounded too good to be true.

"Mad? Why on earth would I be mad? In fact, I think you should embrace it! That's why I have already asked Secretary Kim to spend the rest of the day searching for the perfect candidate for a blind date with you!"

"A WHAT?!?!"
