The sun was just beginning to set, and the 18 year old boy cursed. The bus broke down in the middle so he was pretty late. He was surprised that his parent hadn't called yet. He concluded that they were just busy now that they were also caring for an 8 year old as well as his infant sister.

"Namjoon, my brother said he can drop you off. Don't bother calling a taxi." Namjoon smiled, his dimples popping up at his eyes lit up at the sight of his sunbae, Jin.

"Thanks Sunbae." Namjoon closed his flip phone and followed Jin. Jin's older brother was parked outside the bus station, when he saw his brother approach, he jumped out of the car and rushed over to hug him.

"How was the bus ride?" He asked as they filed into the car. Their way to Namjoon's house was filled with small talk and laughs. He filled them in on his birthday plans and talked about hoping to hang out with their high school friends.

"I bet being a police officer is exciting, does Jimin still annoy you about it?" Namjoon asked, a smile lining his face at the thought of his young friend.

Seok Jung looked back at Namjoon from the rearview mirror, "You guys better tell him to stop. I might actually arrest him to get him to stop visiting me everyday at the station." He said shaking his head as Namjoon and Jin laughed imagining Jimin behind bars.

The fun environment was cut short, when a firetruck flew past them, turning into Namjoon's neighborhood. "Shit, I wonder what happened. I hope everything is okay."

As they rounded the corner to Namjoon's house, they were surprised to see that it was the Kim household that was up in flames.

"Fuck." Namjoon's heart dropped. He jumped out of the car not waiting for the car to roll to a stop. The house was engulfed in a red fury of flames. He ran towards the house, only to be held back by Jin and Jung.

"LET GO." Namjoon screamed, trying to break free. Firefighters began spraying the house down with water, as a crowd of neighbors formed outside watching in horror as the house of the kind couple was burning. Namjoon prayed his family wasn't home.

"There are people inside." He heard the firefighters yell out as they prepared to go inside. That was it for Namjoon. He broke free and ran towards the house not listening to anyone as he pushed past the door. He was only met with smoke and his eyes burned from both the smoke and the heat. Jin followed his friend, closely. Right behind him entered the firefighters who tried to usher them out, but they stood rooted in their spot as their eyes landed on the limp bodies.

Maybe too much smoke got into his lungs, but Namjoon slumped into Jin's arms. Jin dragged out Namjoon as EMT's and firefighters brought out Sooyoung and Sungjae's body. Jin's eyes widened at the sight and he was almost thankful that Namjoon fainted before getting a clear picture of his dead parents. Jin's brows furrowed when another lady was brought out along with baby Ah ro.

"This lady has a pulse. Get her and the baby into the ambulance right now!"

"Why did you guys run in." Jung cursed at his younger brother as he helped him get Namjoon into the car. "Let's go to the hospital." Jung turned back to look at the bodies of Namjoon's parents: he squinted.

"Gunshot wounds?" He shook his head, trying to get a clearer view but they were being put in ambulances. Deciding he would find out about it later, Jung got in the car, following the ambulances to Seoul National Hospital.

The streets were filled with traffic. Jung concentrated as he drove, pulling up at the front of the hospital. He helped get Namjoon onto a wheelchair before rushing off to figure out what happened with his parents and sister. He had a feeling that this was much more than just a house fire. Gun wounds in South Korea was unheard of.

"You're telling me that I saw bullet holes in their heads, but they died because of a house fire?" Jung shook the doctor on the case

"You're telling me that I saw bullet holes in their heads, but they died because of a house fire?" Jung shook the doctor on the case. "Look at him! LOOK AT HIM! That boy, that child is going to have to live the rest of his life never knowing what truly happened to his family.

"Listen." The doctor snapped. He pushed off Jung's hands. "You don't know who is involved with this. I'm warning you. Drop this." With that the doctor walked away. Jung angrily sighed. He spent 5 sleepless days looking for answers but everyone seemed to be scared. No one was acknowledging the fact that they had gotten shot. His worst suspicions seemed to be true. Some bigger people were involved in this and they were trying to sweep this under the rug. Jung looked over at Namjoon sadly. The boy was coddling his baby sister who was lucky enough to survive the fire. He was seated in the hospital hallway staring at the unconscious lady in the room. The stranger who had been in his house. The one person who might know the answers.

Mai had slipped into a coma after receiving severe head trauma from the beating she received from her so called husband. And she unidentifiable. There was no records of the lady anywhere. Jung, as a police officer, knew that it was nearly impossible for that. Something was extremely fishy and he knew that it wasn't safe for Namjoon or his baby sister to be seen near the woman. Jung who decided to become the benefactor of the siblings made a tough decision after assessing the severity of what really happened.

Jung approached the teenager. His brother spotted him first. "Any answers?" Jin asked sadly. Namjoon looked at him expectedly. Jung sadly shook his head. He bent down in front of Namjoon.

"Listen. You need to get out of here." Jung said, looking around. He realized that if the doctors and officers on this case were already scared of something, someone, then the person who did this to Namjoon's parents was already around and he knew he needed to get Namjoon to safety.

"Jin, take them home. I got to deal with a couple things first."

Shit is getting real
