Flashback
"Shoot it, Jisung.""Eomma no. I'm scared."
"SHOOT IT!" The young four year old boy looked at his father's limp body. Adorned with bloodied bullet holes. He wondered why his father wasn't moving. He wondered why his mother wanted him to shoot his father. He wondered why his father was an it and not a him.
His little fingers barely wrapped around the gun.
"Eomma." He cried out. The lady took the gun from his hands and pushed the boy onto the floor.
The air filled with the sound of gunshots again. The little boy tucked his head between his knees and covered his ears. Crying loudly as he watched his mother.
Shin In Hye.
To the world, she appeared a beautiful woman. Struck by tragedy, she was a young widow with a young child.Who would ever think that the shell of this beautiful woman was hiding a monster?
"Come Jisung." Her voice was velvety. It was comforting to anyone but Jisung.
The boy was older now. The fear he had of his mother turned to hatred. The scrawny boy followed his mother, her lips were painted red, and a fur coat hung from her body that she periodically starved.
Shin In Hye was once a successful actress, she married Park Ji Tae, an affluent producer. He married her for her looks, she married him for his money. When Park Ji Tae couldn't provide the lifestyle In Hye wanted she was livid. Her last few movies were flops. There were younger actresses on the market. And then she found out it was Ji Tae that was making it more and more difficult to get booked. He didn't want his wife in the public eye anymore.
Maybe it was wrong? Maybe he didn't deserve In Hye, but did he deserve to be killed the way In Hye killed him?
Young Jisung often pondered that. The older he got, the less pity he felt for his father. Maybe he did deserve it? Maybe? That didn't mean he felt anything for his mother though. He wanted an out.
Tonight would be his out. He would never again pull the trigger for her. He would no longer be an accomplice for her actions because he was scared of himself. Numerous new boyfriends all meeting the same fate, and Jisung was slowly turning immune. It was like clockwork. He was losing his touch with humanity. He knew it was wrong, so why did it feel so good.
When his finger danced on the trigger, when he held the power of life and death in his little hands, he itched to cause destruction. A life lost its weight to him.
"Jisung." In Hye hummed. "You know what you need to do right."
Jisung grunted in response. This was nothing new. They would go to the outhouse where the new victim was being held and Jisung would finish the job.
"Jisung, you know why I make you do this right?" In Hye's eyes were crazy. "It's kill or be killed Jisung."
Those words were ingrained in his head, but the boy knew today would be the last time he heard those words.
