It was difficult to feel comforted by the fact that she was found. At least when they couldn't find her they had the hope that she was okay, but now knowing that she wasn't okay they had to hope for her survival. In a way, the unknown was more peaceful then the known.

The hallway near Ah ro's surgery room was crowded with the boys, Sola, and Jihyo. They were waiting for news. For any sign for more hope, but it seemed rather bleak.

A whole 24 hours had passed since them finding out about the kidnapping and the rescue, but it felt like it had been a lifetime. In fact, Jisung felt aged.

He picked at the skin around his thumb in anxiety. His hair disheveled and his clothes torn.

The doors of the ICU swung open multiple times with nurses and doctors rushing in and out. Jisung felt disheartened every time a nurse walked out covered in blood— his soulmates blood. The boy leaned back with his eyes closed. He tried to remember Ah ro. The moments they had together, but all he could think of was all the times he was an absolute dick to her.

He wasn't a good person, friend, or boyfriend to her. Well he couldn't exactly say boyfriend, they weren't exactly exclusive with Jisung acting like a douchebag every chance he had. The boy felt angry at himself as his words and actions circled his head.

"I'm a piece of shit." He whispered as he wiped his face with his hand, gripping his hair he pulled it to ease his growing headache. Sleep was nonexistent for him.

He was now immune to the sound of the door opening, so when it opened again he didn't pay any attention to it. But this time it was the doctor.

"Who is Ah ro's guardian here?" Jisung shot up along with Sola and Taeil, and even Taeyong.

"I'll need two of you to come with me." Taeil and Taeyong followed the doctor making Jisung sink into his chair feeling angered. He was Ah ro's soulmate he deserved to know not them.

Sola looked at the younger boy and walked towards him. She couldn't only imagine what she would do if Taeil was in that situation, so she felt for the boy. Plus to her, Ah ro had a special place. The girl was her daughter and she should have been there to protect her.

To be honest, that was what was going through all of their heads— even Ten. Ten was silent during the whole thing. The memories of losing his own soulmate fresh in his mind. For the first time in a while he felt something. He felt saddened, scared, angry, and distraught all at once.

Everyone looked up as Taeil and Taeyong walked back. Both their faces downturned and darkened.

"What did the doctor say? She'll be okay right?" Sola stood up and rushed towards her soulmate for answers. Taeil sighed.

"He said that in the next 24 hours there is a possibility for Ah ro to wake up or the possible for her to slip into a coma."

"Coma would be fatal for her. She is on a ventilator and they managed to give her back blood. She had broken bones and bruises. Internal damage that they managed to fix." Taeyong added. "So right now, all we can do is hope she'll wake up."

Chenle grabbed onto Jisung whose legs gave out. The boy fell down. The only thought in his mind was that if he had been there to protect her. All of this wouldn't have happened.

"Why her?" Jisung cried. For a boy barren of emotion the past 24 hours had been filled with it.

"The doctors want only two people to stay so Taeil and I will stay the rest of you need to go back and get some rest okay? We'll update everyone." Taeyong lies straight through his teeth, but he couldn't see the people he loved like this. Mostly Jisung, the boy who he practically raised. It broke his heart.

"No!" Jisung roared. "I'm staying. You're all leaving. She wouldn't be anything to you if it weren't for me." The boy pushed past everyone and walked away. He went to the reception to ask where Ah ro would be taken next. He wanted some alone time before he would see her lifeless body.

Going up to the 21st floor, he waited outside of an empty room. Ah ro hadn't been brought yet which gave him some
time to be alone. It was only about 5 minutes before he was joined by Taeil and Taeyong who wordlessly sat beside him. About 15 minutes later, Ah ro's bed was rolled towards them. Jisung shot up. The nurse kindly stopped the bed right in front of the three boys before she took Ah ro in.

To Jisung through, that second stop wasn't enough and now he had to wait for god knows how long before they would let him in.

The nurse walked out and felt pity for the three young boys sitting out there. She walked up to them.

"You won't be able to see her for another couple hours. I think it is best for you guys to leave and freshen up. Eat something. You want to look alive for the girl when she wakes up." She advised kindly before walking away.

Jisung waited before speaking, "I- can you take me somewhere?" Taeyong agreed immediately glad to hear Jisung's voice and not him yelling.

Taeyong stood in the back against the wall as he watched Jisung walked to the front

Taeyong stood in the back against the wall as he watched Jisung walked to the front. Outside the building it was loud, filled with the sounds of Seoul's traffic and get inside here it was quiet. Candles surrounded the walls leaving a warm hue around the room.

Jisung dropped to his knees at the front. Joining his hands he hesitated.

"Dear God, I know you're surprised to see me. I need you now. Save Ah ro for me. I promise to be better for her." Jisung let his tears flow as he tightly closed his eyes. "Please god—" The boy continued to pray. The last time he came to a church was years ago with his family before they were killed, he blamed God then, but now weakened. He felt that he could only turn to God.

"Amen." He mumbled softly as he stood back up staring at the cross. The boy walked towards the candles. He searched his pockets for spare change to donate, and pulled out a crinkled bill. He didn't care to check the amount, he slipped it in and lit a candle. Stepping back he turned back to look at the cross.

"Please." He whispered. The holy silence was then filled with Taeyong's ringtone. The man frantically searched his pockets before pulling out his phone. He answered.

"SHE'S RESPONSIVE!" Taeil voice filled his ear. Jisung walked towards his hyung in confusion.
Taeyong informed Jisung and both of them ran towards the door to get back. Jisung turned one more time and looked at the cross.

"Thank you."
