You felt his heavy breaths, faintly under your palm. Your arm was wrapped gently around his chest, so close your body was hugged against his. Your legs entangled with his, like a pretzel. The pale sun shown delicately from his bedroom window, forcing your eyes apart. You felt him begin to awaken, as you saw his soft eyes flutter open. He took a minute or two to process before he spoke. His voice thick and gruff, "Mornin' love." You smiled up at him.
"Morning Ni." You leaned your head back onto his chest, not wanting to leave the bed. It was paradise just lying here with him. You scooted even closer to him, so that you could strike his lips with a small kiss. His lips were always so mellow and lush, you loved each kiss you shared.
"What do you wanna do today?" he asked rubbing your back with his hand.
"Lie here," you said honestly.
"I wish," he breathed, "But seriously. We should do something fun today. Just me and you."
"What do you have in mind?"
"I don't know. How about I start by making my lovely girl some breakfast and then we can go from there?" he proposed grinning down at you. At a first glance, you would've never known that Niall was such a gentlemen. You thought he was just some typical guy in a boyband who acted like a teenager, tried to get all the girls, win all the ladies. But he wasn't anything like you ever imagined. You still can't believe why you almost didn't give him a chance.
"Sounds great," you whispered. No one had to suggest it, but you both just lay there for a while longer. The feeling of his breathless actions beneath you, the soothing back rub, and just being with him was all you needed.
"Kay babe. Why don't you go get ready and I'll go get started on breakfast?"
"I can help you-"
"It's okay hun. I got it." He kissed your forehead softly, letting you get up. You went into the bathroom, and he walked out into the kitchen. Then, you heard the sudden sound of a doorbell. You heard five new voices appear. It was Ellie and the boys. You were somewhat happy to see them—most of them that is. Especially Ellie, but you just wanted to spend the day with Niall, alone. You sighed, pulling your moppy, blonde hair into a messy bun. You washed your face thoroughly with an apricot scrub, drying off with a washcloth. You changed into a pair of denim shorts, and a clean tank top. You left your hair in a messy bun on the top of your head. Niall wouldn't really care what you looked like. You walked out, to see the house almost empty again. Then you noticed Liam. He was sitting on Niall's couch, watching tv. You ignored him, walking past him to the kitchen.
"Where'd everyone go?" you asked in a sort of whisper. He pointed outside to the ocean. They were all frolicking in the morning sun, well except for Zayn. He was sitting on the shore, tanning. You laughed slightly. "Then what is he doing here?" you asked lowering your voice even more. Niall shrugged.
"He wanted to talk to you," he said. You looked over at Liam sitting on the couch.
"Me?"
"Yeah. I can go-"
"No. I want you to stay." He nodded as you went over to Liam. You grabbed the remote with attitude, shutting the tv down with a click.
"What was that for?" he asked grimly.
"You said you wanted to talk?"
"Yeah." You sat down beside him. You looked over at Niall who was totally oblivious to the conversation and was in the midst of flipping his pancakes. You stared in silence for a moment. His eyes brought back so many memories. How you would spend your weekends doing the craziest things together. One time you even went to a real ice skating rink. He had told you, "Don't worry if you fall, I'll be here to catch you." How he'd wake you up every day with a wide smile on his face singing, "Good morning sunshine!" How he would always take you to the same café on every rainy day. He'd grab your hand from across the small coffee table and say, "I love you."
"Why are you doing this?" he asked randomly.
"Doing what?"
"You and Niall. I know you two are dating or whatever," he spoke with remorse.
"I-I"
"Save it."
"I don't know what you want me to say-"
"Say that you'll break up with him. Because you and I both know that this is some sort of revenge on me or something. Everyone knows that you don't really like him," now Niall was listening, "and that you're doing this just to get back at me."
"Liam," a zesty tear ran from your eye to your chin, "How dare you say that."
"Stop pretending. You know it, I know it, Niall knows it. You're still not over me and you don't know what else to do but fuck around with my bandmate," his eyes showed no mercy, "And isn't this against the boy code or something. You can't date your friend's exes." You let the tears fly mad from your eyes, as you watched Niall take a step forward before you began to speak.
"I am not pretending. This is not a joke to me. Niall makes me feel every bit of happy that I don't feel with you. Yeah, we had some good times. We got along really well Liam. But since then, I don't know what happened. No I do. It was Danielle," your voice whimpered as you struggled to continue on, "It's all because of Danielle. You have yourself a girlfriend, a fiancé. You shouldn't even care about what I do. I think you're the one that's jealous."
"Me?! Hell no. I am not jealous."
"Well your being a complete dick about all this." You stood up, and so did he.
"I don't like you being with Niall. And that's that. It's never going to work out between the two of you," he said crossing his arms.
"I want to be with him, because I know we were meant to be together," the magical words slipped out of your mouth. The words that you had said so easily that day to Mr. Horio. The words that were spoken about Liam, but now spoken about Niall.
"Just get over yourself, and get over me!" he pounded harder and harder against your brittle walls. Niall ran over to you two, holding you back from Liam. It was no use, since you had already punched him.
