It was a text from Ellie. You had asked her earlier for Pat’s number. You wanted to talk to him yourself. You saved the number into your contacts, before hitting the green call.

“Where’s Louis?!” Zayn called impatiently from the door. You turned to the four boys standing by Niall’s front door. You stumbled to hang up the call before it rang anymore than twice. You’d find time to call him later. The boys had already loaded the car and were ready to go, you didn’t want to make them wait.

“I’m here! I’m here!” Louis cried frantically ripping through the living room with his backpack wide open.

“Okay. Everyone’s here. Let’s get the move on,” Liam said wheeling towards the door in an attempt to leave.

“Not before I say goodbye,” you said walking over to Zayn. You pulled him into a big hug.

“I had lots of fun Y/N. Thanks for letting us come,” you smiled moving on to Harry.

“Take good care of my Nialler,” Harry whispered into your hair making you giggle.

“I will,” you assured him, “Come here Louis.”

“Hey when you get the chance. Tell Ellie to call me,” he said.

“Will do Lou,” you said pulling away. On the end of the line was Liam who stood candid with his hands pinned to his pockets. He looked up to the ceiling rocking slightly back and forth on the tips of his heels. There was only one way to solve the awkwardness. You went over to him, wrapping your arms lightly around his neck. His breathing on the nape of your neck was warm and shallow. His hands wrapped themselves around you like old times. Times of the past. Times you will never forget. It was your last and final goodbye, and you were going to cherish it. Throughout the last few weeks things have been crazy between the two of you. Words were spat, fights were exchanged, punches were thrown, bodies were beaten, awkwardness remained…

“Bye Liam. Good luck,” you whispered just loud enough for him to hear, “With everything.”

“You too Y/N,” he said drawing away from you. You took a deep breath as you watched them leave. Niall said his manly goodbyes to them, before they left out the door. You only knew the other boys were for a few weeks but you have grown to love them like a family. And it’s always hard to say goodbye to family. You gave Niall half a smile as he pulled you in for a warming hug.

 “Are you okay?”

“Yeah why wouldn’t I be?” you asked pulling away but still clinging onto his shirt tightly.

 “I don’t know. I just thought Liam-“

“Nope. I’m fine,” you smiled kissing his lips quickly.

“Okay. Well we still have the whole day ahead of us. What would you like to do now that we’re alone?” he winked.

“Let’s go to the beach!” you threw your arms out, imitating Nicki Minaj.

“Not exactly what I had in mind,” he spoke honestly, “But sure.”

“Let me just go grab my swimsuit and I’ll meet you there in 10?”

“Kay baby. Take your time,” he said back as you turned to your house. You ran straight for your dresser rummaging through your swimsuits. Your eyes settled on the same one that you wore that very first day. The tiny, blue one that showed off a little too much. You smirked to yourself changing into it, leaving your overnight clothes to lay limply on the ground. You grabbed your beach towel and pulled on your yellow flip-flops. You walked out your back door, instantly getting hit with the fresh scent of ocean water. It was the kind of smell that could cure your any worst mood, restore you to perfect health, take you to a another world. You closed your eyes breathing it in before walking down the sand to where Niall was standing.
