“Beach?” Niall waved a frustrated hand across your vision, “Hello? Y/N? You there?”

You were still kind of dazed from this morning, but then again you were dazed about everything that’s been happening these past few days. But this morning, you woke up in the strong grasp of Niall. His hunky arms, lying restlessly over your shoulder, as he slept soundly against your neck. His morning voice seeming to wake you up, out of your living dream.

“Oh,” you blinked, “Yeah. Sorry. Sure.”

“Okay I’m just gonna go grab my swimsuit and towel from my place, and I’ll meet you in there in say 15 minutes?”

“Sounds good,” you replied watching him leave. You ran into your room, swiping open your dresser. You chucked the tiny electric blue bathing suit out of your way, knowing it was way too skimpy to ever wear in front of him again. You pulled out a lime green strapless, with a matching bottom. “Perfect,” you mumbled. The rest of the gang was still sleeping soundlessly in separate rooms. You had woken up first, therefore waking up Niall too. You slid into your suit, tiptoeing around your house looking for sunscreen and a towel. You went into the hallway closet, looking for a clean beach towel. It was empty. Damn it. You’ve used them all. Then you remembered that there was one hanging in the guest room. You tried to open the door with the least amount of noise possible. The creaking of the rusty hinges didn’t help much. The figure in bed shot up, awakened.

“Thank god it’s you Ellie,” you breathed holding your hand to your heart. She gave you a funny look. “I mean I’m glad you weren’t Liam or something.” She rubbed her eyes twice. “I’m just gonna grab that towel and I’ll be out of your way, you can go back to sleep.”

“Well I’m up now,” she said relentlessly, “Where are you going at-“ she stopped to check the clock, “8:09 in the morning?”

“Beach…”

“…with Niall?”

“How’d you know?”

“It’s obvious you two have a thing for each other. Even if you can’t see it, I know he fancies you,” oh you could see it. You could definitely see the feelings you and Niall shared. You knew it was mutual, you just weren’t sure what to do about them.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” you said nonchalantly, slapping the towel off of it’s perch and backing out of the room. You grabbed the sunscreen from the kitchen, and slid into your favorite slippers. You made your way down the heated sand, to see Niall standing there. It was almost a déjà vu of the first day you two met. He was standing there without a care in the world, staring out into the deep ocean. He flung around the instant he heard your heavy footsteps. A wide smile grew on his face as he saw you approach. He walked over to you, as you placed your stuff down gently. You opened your sunscreen bottle, spreading it evenly on your skin. You struggled to reach your back.

“Need help?” he asked amused.

“Er-“

“Here,” he said grabbing the bottle from your hands and squirting some onto three of his fingers. He began to roll the lotion out onto your back. The feeling of his rough but strong hands was odd. You shivered at the chill the cold liquid gave you. But also from his touch. You pulled away, this was too weird.

“I got it,” you murmured snatching back the bottle from him. He shrugged. He lifted his shirt from his body, revealing his fit body. His toned abs, screaming at you. You looked away blushing, as he noticed you he smirked to himself. After awhile you gave up on the sunscreen. You just wanted to get in the ocean. You neared the shore line where water met sand. Your toes perking up as they met the frigid ocean water. They curled in excitement, just before something swept you off your feet. Someone. Niall grabbed you, sweeping you into a bridal style carry.

“Niall!” you squealed, “It’s cold!” Freezing splashes sparked your skin as he trudged you deeper and deeper into the water.

“Too bad,” he said, his voice slightly edgy. After scaring dips, and multiple twirls he finally set you down on your two feet. Your hair was only half wet.

“Come on get all the way in,” he said. You shook your head stubbornly. He gave you the pouty face, that you always gave him.

“Not gonna work,” you said crossing your arms. All of a sudden an idea played his lips. He placed his hands boldly on your shoulders, pushing you down into the water.

“Niall!” you spluttered coming up for air, “You’re so mean!” Instead of letting him apologize, you grabbed his head pushing him down just as he had down to you. You held him under for a few seconds, trying to get all your body weight down on him.

“You’re strong Y/N,” he said once his breathing regulated. You grinned. “Do you play sports?”

“Nope,” you said popping the p, “well I used to play soccer in high school. But that was awhile ago.”

“Football?” he asked cocking an eyebrow.

“Soccer…”

“Football…”

“Socc-Yeah football,” you said laughing.

“That’s awesome. I love football. We should go one on one sometime,” he said winking.

“Oh you’re so going down,” you sniggered.

“Is that a challenge?” he asked taking a step forward.

“It’s a challenge,” you whispered as he closed in towards you. His salty, summery breath tickled your nose as he came closer and closer.

“Then it’s a challenge,” his lips were inching from yours, reminding you of the few kisses you’ve shared. You looked up into his eyes, getting lost in them. They definitely reminded you of the ocean. He was the perfect ocean boy. He was your ocean boy.

When you thought he couldn’t get any closer, he did. The space between you two was slowly receding when he spoke against your lips.

“Y/N?” You stared up at him, “Will you be my girlfriend?” The question took you surprise, but perhaps you had always been anticipating it. This was crazy. You’ve known each other for like a week, and you would be making your separate ways in just a few more. He was in a famous band, and you were just some silly girl who always seemed to get involved with the wrong boys.

“Yes,” you whispered as he closed the gap between you two.
