“Do you hear me? I don’t want you to go near her,” you saw the rage in his voice and wanted to run. You wanted to leave, but you wanted to take Niall. You didn’t want to see what Liam would do to Niall if he got really angry.
“Why do you even care?” Niall shot back, standing his ground.
“Because.”
“Because why?” Niall forced.
“Because I still care about her okay,” he fumed. Now it was your turn to step in.
“You still care about me?” The two boys turned to stare at you.
“I-I-“ he let go of Niall, letting him fall backwards.
“After all these years. You come back and tell me that you still care about me?!” you were shaking your head wildly, “You can’t just do that. You can’t tell me you still care about me Liam!”
“But-but it’s the truth,” he stuttered helplessly for an answer.
“You have no right to be jealous,” you whispered as a small tear rolling down your cheek as you saw Niall’s frightened face. You don’t know why you were crying, but that’s just what Liam does to you.
“Who said I’m jealous?”
“It’s so obvious mate,” Niall butted in, “You still have feelings for her.”
“I am not jealous of you and Y/N! You know what? I changed my mind. I don’t care about Y/N one bit. She can go around snogging as many guys as she wants. Hell, she go get banged every night. Who am I to care?” Your lower lip began to tremble as the hot tears, blurred your vision. Without one look back, you ran for the door. If Liam didn’t care about you, you didn’t care about him.
You didn’t even know what direction you were going, but you were just running. Running as fast as you could. The deep, soggy tears slashing onto the sand before you as the ocean neared your sight. But when you finally reached the ocean, you didn’t stop. You turned to the right, heading towards the gate that you cried to the day you found out Liam was getting married. You were so heartbroken then, and you wanted to get him back. You wanted to be the one he was marrying. But now you could care less. Liam could go get married to whoever he wanted, you didn’t care about him anymore. You banged your fist against the metal gate, bold, red blood instantly erupting from the spot. You cried out in pain, hitting it again harder. The agony was nothing compared to what you were feeling inside. You wanted so badly to go back in time. To never have met Liam.
You sat on the cold, drying sand before you hugging your knees close to yourself. Your tears were an endless stream as they fell from your eyes to the sand. You thought about everything that had happened. It’s not fair that Liam comes back into your life after all this time expecting everything to be the same. He really has no right to be mad or even jealous of Niall. You two broke up a long time ago, the jealously thing should’ve worn off by now. But you’re still envious of Danielle…Danielle. He’s getting married. That’s another reason he shouldn’t be jealous.
You looked out at the aqua blue ocean, where everything was tranquil. So calm. There was no sign of any problems, anger, tears. It was barely mid-morning, and you were already in tears. That must be some kind of record. You noticed a lone seagull flying up above you. Its tender, white wings ripping through the morning sky. You remember how you gave that seagull your worries on the very first day here. You said that you were going to forgive and forget, forgive and forget…
You tried to remember the reason you came to this stupid place in the first place. It was to get away from everything, all the drama, especially from him. What twisted fate made you two meet again? That’s right, magic.
“Y/N,” you head was staring down when you saw the two sandy feet appear. You tipped your head up to see Niall.
“Ni-“
“Are you okay?” he cut you off. You stifled a quick nod before looking down again. You didn’t want to face anybody right now.
“Look,” he sat down next to you, “What Liam said was stupid. He’s such a dick for saying all those things.” You stayed silent. Is Niall really siding with you over his own bandmate?
“I just actually thought just for one moment-that he really did still care about me…” you let one tear fall from your eye, doing your best to stop anymore.
“He does. I just don’t know what he was saying. He didn’t even know what he was saying,” he said trying to make eye contact.
“How do you know he does?”
“Because he’s jealous of our-,”
“Yeah I know,” you cut him off, not wanting to hear the big K word.
“Y/N?” he asked after a few awkward seconds.
“Mm?”
“What are we?” You found the strength to stand up, dusting off your pants.
“I don’t know,” you whispered grabbing his hand as he walked you home.
