“Say cheese!” Niall exclaimed putting on his cheekiest smile. You pulled your head closer to his, mimicking his perfectly carefree smile. He clicked the button on his phone snapping the picture with a bright flash. He slipped his phone back into his front pocket, “Beach?”

“Now?” you said leaning back farther onto the couch.

“Yeah. Why not?” he asked, “We might as well take advantage of it while we’re still here.”

“Meet you there in 15,” you smiled kissing his cheek and running out your door to your side of the property. It was kind of a routine for you now, leaving Niall’s place to get your swimsuit, grabbing a towel and sunscreen. You two have gone to the beach almost every day this summer.

“Took you long enough,” he said flipping around to face you.

“Sorry,” you replied placing your stuff down, “I couldn’t find my other swimsuit.” He looked you down head to toe, your petite flashing blue bikini fitting tightly to your curves. His grin widened as he walked up the beach front towards you, taking your hand and pulling you into the water.

“So sexy,” he mumbled in your ear bluntly. You giggled back a blush as you waded into the blinding, cold ocean hand in hand. It was especially cold today. He stopped suddenly when the water’s meniscus hit his belly button. You let go of hand, continuing to venture out ahead of him. The bitter water streaming against your bare stomach made you shiver. You made your head go numb as you turned to lie on your back. You let your body float lightly against the stiffening water. You breathed in what was left of the visible salty air, as you let your hands slowly drop to your side defying gravity. Your toes bent towards the bottom of the sea as you closed your eyes from the blistering sun. You felt the water level wave around you as you felt his warm body settle beside yours. You opened your eyes slightly to see Niall copying your stance. You stayed in an undemanding silence for minutes regardless. Your mind fluttered from thought to thought as you listened to his even breathing.

“You know,” you said quietly against the waves, “I never used to go to the beach much.”

“That’s hard to believe,” you managed to hear out of your half submerged ears.

“Why is that?”

“Just look at that swimsuit,” you shot up breaking your trance facing him.

“Hey!” you nudged his shoulder causing him to bundle up in stance. He chuckled.

Even if it was two sizes too small…”Nobody was supposed to be at this beach.”

“Except for me,” he whispered gruffly pulling his hips towards yours. Your breathing locked in together as you tried to keep it under control.

“Except for you,” you mumbled under the daze of his lips brushing lightly against yours as he spoke. He pulled away, leaving your lips empty and cold.

“Let’s go deeper,” he said as you hooked your hand around his pinky as he schemed across the endless blues. Rolling off in the distance were frothing waves, wheeling towards you. It hit you with a harder force than you imagined as you flew back a few feet.

“Niall!” you screamed to him holding onto your chest tightly. You could hear him laughing at you from behind the wave.

“Are…you…okay?” he managed between hiding chuckles.

“My top!” you yelled turning away from him trying to catch sight of your neon, blue bikini top that had flown off in the burly wave. “Find it!” He couldn’t hide his laughs as he ran through the waves in search of your swimsuit.

“I can’t find it!” he yelled back.

“Niall!” you screeched making sure to keep your body under the waves. You spoke with your head just above the water.

“I’m trying I’m trying!” he couldn’t wipe the smirk off his face as he advanced towards you. “You don’t need it,” he mumbled bringing your body up and towards him. You blushed looking away as he mashed his lips to yours.

“Throw me a grape,” you ordered to Niall who was on the opposite couch facing you. He lofted one of the plump fruits into the air, as you caught it in between your teeth.

“I’ll never understand how you do that,” he shook his head at you as you smiled pleased. Your hair was still damp from the shower you had just taken with Niall. You were dressed in one of his big, gray shirts and underwear. What’s a better time to tell him, then now?

“Niall,” you said bringing your knees up onto the firm couch.

“Hm?” he asked cocking his head up from sifting through the bowl of grapes.

“I have some news to tell you,” you said nibbling on your lower lip lightly.

“What is it?” he asked walking over and sitting right beside you with a hint of worry in his eyes.

“I called your Uncle Pat,” you began. He gave you a weird look.

“Why would you do that?” he asked.

“Because,” you gave him a soft, secretive grin, “I wanted to ask him something.”

“And what is that?” he asked resting his strong hand on your thigh.

“I asked him if I could stay longer than September 1 maybe just for a week or so,” you stopped to see his expression.

“But instead he said I could stay for three more weeks!” you exclaimed throwing your arms around him.
