“What’s in this thing anyways?”
“Turkey, tomato, swiss cheese, and some peanut butter,” Niall said consuming a huge bite of his half-eaten sandwich.
“PEANUT BUTTER?!” you started spitting out your sandwich onto the sand when Niall started to laugh hysterically.
“I was joking,” he said his eyes growing watery from laughter, “It’s mayo.”
“MAYO?!” you cried, “Niall! I’m allergic to Mayo!” You started to scratch your tongue with the back of a fork. He ran over to you, putting a hand on your back in worry.
“Y/N I’m-“
“I was joking,” you stabbed back at him. He fell down onto his back.
“Wow. That was not cool,” he said. You shrugged, your lips playing up a subtle smirking.
“Anyways…we should be getting back to the others don’t you think?” you looked at the crimson, striped picnic blanket underneath you. On top of the blanket were multiple plates of sandwiches, more grapes like the first day, and lemonade. It was nothing special, but you loved it regardless. He had set this all up, just for you. You gave him your best puppy dog face.
“Can we not? Can we stay here?”
“Y/N…don’t give me that face,” he said. You continued to give him the pleading look, before plopping a grape into your mouth. “Fine. We can stay for a little longer I guess…”
“Yay!”
“Hey look!”
“What-“ you asked looking around desperately side to side. He pointed up skywards, to the spotted white blues above you. “What is it?” you asked scooting closer to him so you could more accurately at what he was pointing at.
“Look. It’s a donkey,” he said chuckling. You saw the clouded figure floating mindlessly in the sky.
“Not even. It looks more like a-“ you tilted your head to the lift, “A grandma whacking something with her purse. Oh look at that one over there though, it looks like a butterfly!”
He then pointed a fat, blobby one, “And that one looks like you.” You gave him your best frown, without laughing. He couldn’t hold it in, he started to laugh his light-hearted laugh that made you smile. The kind that could free your worries, the kind that could start new life. He noticed you staring at him, and looked right back at you. You could feel his eyes tracing the outline of your lips silently, as he leaned forward. You wanted to kiss him, but you couldn’t. Kissing him was what spiraled everything out of control. You jerked your head away, covering your face from his.
“Niall-“ You wanted to tell him that you were sorry. That you wanted to kiss him, but it was best if you didn’t. That things were just confusing and you didn’t know what to do. But you never had the chance. You would have told him all those things, if he hadn’t kissed you. He forced his lips upon yours, moving them wildly against yours. Your soft lips deepening the spontaneous kiss as you fell backwards. He lingered on top of you, holding onto your hips tightly. Your eyes squeezed shut, as you savored the forbidden feeling. He pulled away breathlessly, helping you back up. You sat beside him, awkwardly fidgeting your fingers. The silence was eating up the mood as your mind swirled around his actions. You came to a conclusion. You were glad he had done it.

“Let’s have a movie night!” Ellie exclaimed happily. Everyone mumbled their opinions, as different dvds were passed hand to hand.
“Finding nemo!”
“No the titanic!”
“No! That’s way too sad.”
“Valentine’s Day?”
“Nah. What about Marley & Me?”
“Also too sad…”
“Toy Story?” you flinched. You knew it was Liam’s favorite movie, how could you not? It was the movie that the two of you would always watch…together. It used to be one of your favorite things to do on rainy Sunday nights. To snuggle up by his small tv, cuddled up in his arms with a bowl of popcorn, watching Toy Story.
“No. Paranormal Activity?” you changed the subject quickly, picking up the closest movie to you.
“Too scary!” you heard Ellie whine.
“I’ll keep you safe,” Louis said acting like superman. Everyone aww’d. Everyone else did the same, except for Liam. He was sitting in the kitchen, “engrossed” in his laptop. He refused to talk to you, and you refused to talk to him. You could barely stand being in the same room as him, but as long as he didn’t come near you, you were half alright.
“Li? Are you sure you don’t wanna come watch?” Harry asked patting the seat beside him. You all looked up at him, to see him only shake his head dully. “Alright. Then play it!” Harry announced kicking his feet up. Zayn put the dvd in and pressed play, as you saw Ellie settle into Louis’ protective arms. You smiled to yourself, they were adorable, even if they weren’t a couple…yet.
You sat inches away from Niall, turning back every so often to see if Liam was looking at you. And he wasn’t. You knew you should’ve forgiven him or forgotten him by now, but it was too hard to do either.
Your mind however was not only preoccupied on Liam, but Niall too. You couldn’t hide the way you felt about him. That he gave you goosebumps everytime he laughed, gave you shivers whenever he touched you, nearly gave you a heartattack everytime you kissed…You knew better though. You knew that everything would just get screwed up if the two of you started anything stupid. You knew. But in your confusion you felt his lazy arm rest itself around your shoulder, and your head lean leisurely into the crook of his neck.
