Anna and Howard reluctantly got up and showered after realising that they had half an hour before the rest of the guys were due around for drinks to celebrate Howard's birthday that evening.
Anna made her way downstairs just as the front door bell rang.
"They're here," she called back upstairs to him. "Get a move on!"
Howard appeared out of their room and quickly made his way down the stairs to say hello to his friends. They'd already made themselves comfortable by the time he joined them, Anna making sure that they all had a drink.
"Just taking this little one up to bed now," announced Chloe as she followed him into the room.
"Oh no, let me do that," said Howard, turning to take Maisie from her. "I've hardly seen her this weekend with being away. You stay here with this lot Chloe, help them choose something to eat from the menu. See you in a bit guys," he told them as he made towards the doorway again. "Say 'Nite nite!' Maisie!" he whispered into his daughter's ear.
"Nite, nite," whispered Maisie to them all, waving her chubby hand as her dad carried her up the stairs to bed.
"Right then," said Mark sitting down with Chloe and taking the menu from her. "What are we having then? Anything you fancy?" he grinned at her as she blushed back at him. "Any special requests from anyone?" he asked the rest of them.
"No Markie, we'll leave it up to you," said Gary. "Surprise us!"
"Well has he had a good day then?" asked Gary of Anna as she took a seat at the side of him. "Tried to ring this morning but got no reply."
"Yeah me too," Jason joined in, sitting down on the floor. "Tried a couple of times over the weekend but nothing."
"Yeah right, the dozy bugger left his phone here!" Anna told them. "I couldn't get in touch either and the hotel was useless. And of course it was all my fault. He was in a right mood when he first got back. Brightened up a bit now though!" she smiled at them.
"What did he get for his birthday then?" asked Gary winking at her. "It must have been something good if it's put him in a better mood!"
Anna blushed as they both grinned at her.
"Just got him bits of things, like the digital photo thingie. He can take it with him when he's away from home if we can't be with him. Trouble is we've not got many of the three of us together. Would love to have like a formal picture of us all. Would be great to have a proper family portrait of us all."
"I know of a new studio just establishing itself in Manchester," said Jason. "Me and Chris went to their promotional opening night the other week. Their work looked pretty good too." He reached into his back pocket and brought out his wallet.
"They gave me these cards. Here it may be worth you having a look. See if you can arrange something with them," Jason said handing one of them to Anna. "Would be good if you could give them some business. Even thought of trying them for the band too Gaz. You know get them to do some stuff for when we've finished the album." He passed one of the business cards to Gary who placed it in his wallet.
"Images" read Anna. "They have a place in the city centre then? That should be easy to find. I'll give them a ring and set up a sitting for us tomorrow."
"Yeah, it's owned partly by someone who took photos of us first time around," said Jason. "You may remember her Gaz. Nina."
"Oh it's a long time Jay, I've slept since," laughed Gary. "Maybe I'll know her when I see her."
