Keeping her promise to Chris, Anna rang her the next morning telling her the good news that she had a flat, rather an apartment for her, Maisie and Chloe to live in.

"Fantastic!," she exclaimed down the phone to her friend.  "That didn't take you long.  Whereabouts is it?" she wanted to know.  "And more importantly, when can I come round to see it?"

Anna told her where the flat was and that she was welcome to come over any time to see it.

"How the hell did you manage to get one of those?  I mean the rent on them must be sky high!  How can you afford that?" she asked her.

"Jason," she said simply.  "It's an investment buy he made some months ago.  It's not being lived in at the moment and he said I could use it until I get something sorted out.  If I need to that is."

"Good for Jason.  He's really looking after you.  Pity Howard isn't more like him," said Chris, unable to resist having a dig at him.  "Have you heard from him over the last couple of days?"

"Texts and voice messages," said Anna.  "I told him that I'd get in touch with him when I wanted to hear from him again.  He's been up the last couple of nights when they've finished in the studio, to see Maisie and spent some time with her like he would do.  Chloe told me that he bathed her last night and put her to bed.  I've told him that he can see her anytime he wants to do and I've kept to it.  Just made sure that I've not been around when he's been there.  I don't want more rows with him.  It's better like this at the moment."

Chris listened quietly to her, knowing how hard this must be for her.  She knew that her friend still loved Howard, but knew that the time had come for her to start thinking about herself.  She needed to be sure that she was making the right decision if she went ahead a married him.

At the same time she was proud of the way that Jason had been there for her friend.  It was this side of him that she loved the most.  The way he put himself at the disposal of his friends when they needed him.  And his generosity.  Just when she thought she couldn't love him any more, he did something like this.

"Anyway, I've had an idea about trying to get a job.  What about if I gave Sian a ring?  She could tell me if she'd heard of anything that could be coming up.  You know how it is.  She knows a lot of people.  Might just be that she's heard of something about to come up."

"It would definitely be worth giving her a ring.  You could be lucky again!" agreed Chris, glad that her friend was doing something.

The two of them chatted a while longer before ringing off, Anna again telling her that she would let her know if anything came of it.

Even though she knew Sian well, Anna was still rather nervous as she rang her number.  Luckily she was available when the phone was answered and Sian was delighted to hear from her. Apparently Anna's luck was in and Sian asked her if she could come along the next day, that there could be something for her.

Excitedly Anna rang Chris back and told her her news.

"Blimey!  You are on a roll at the moment.  With the way your luck is going, this time tomorrow you could have a job as well!  I'll be thinking of you when you go along.  Good luck hun!"

Anna put the phone down and then sent Jason a text asking him to call around that night if he could to have a talk and a drink with her.  She didn't want to be seen talking with him by the others in case they were overheard and it got back to Howard before she was ready to tell him everything.

Jason was in rehearsals when he got the call from Anna.  Looking at the display as the text came through, he left the table where he'd been sitting with the rest of the guys and told them he'd see them later.  Going outside he leaned against the wall and read Anna's message.  Like Chris, he was glad that she was doing something and not letting the situation drag her down.  He hoped that the chat with Sian the next day would help her further.
