Howard reached over and pulled the sheet up across Anna's bare shoulder as she slept.  She lay with her head in the hollow of his shoulder, her arm across his chest.  He moved to make them both more comfortable in the bed, trying not to disturb her.  She snuggled closer to him in her sleep, mumbling his name as she did so.  He smiled at her as she nestled next to him, smoothing her hair back and kissing her forehead lightly.

The battle that had been raging in his head ever since Nina had told him about Anna's 'affair' with one of their friends, was subsiding.  The more he had thought about it the less likely it was to be true.

When he had got home from Gary's house on Sunday, she had been so pleased to see him, home hours earlier than he said he would be.  She'd been so anxious about his jaw which had swollen up as a result of Gary's punch.  As far as she was concerned it had been a jealous boyfriend losing his temper in the club where he had been working on Saturday night.  She had fussed over him and made him hold an ice pack to his face to lessen the swelling.  Luckily his beard had disguised the bruise which had come out the next day.

For the next couple of days he had told himself over and over that Anna wouldn't betray him like that and Gary had been right.  It was all made up because of the knock back he had given Nina.

Despite this, he still found himself watching Anna when she had come with Maisie to pick him up from the studio where he was still working with the rest of the band on the songs for the album.  His car was in the garage for a couple of days having some work done on it, and Anna had offered to come and pick him up.

Every time he had seen her talking to one of the others, he was waiting to see some give away sign or clue that Nina had been right.  He'd ruled Gary out because of his new friendship with Sandy.  She had been around a fair amount of time over the last few days and Gary seemed to be pretty smitten with her.  Chloe and Mark had been a bit of a surprise to all of them but they too seemed to be becoming close to one another.  That left just Jason.  But he was used to seeing the pair of them chatting away to each other.  They had always been good friends.  Chris had been down a lot to the studio as well over the last few weeks. She and Jason were getting on better than they ever had, getting closer to each other. As far as he could see there was nothing going on between Anna and any of them.  Nina must have got it wrong or was like Gary had suggested, was making it all up.

Howard sighed and looked down again as Anna smiled in her sleep.  Everything was going to be alright.  He had nothing to worry about.

The album was progressing well.  By now they had accumulated quite a list of songs and they needed to choose which they wanted to use on the album besides decide who was to sing them.

Martin, their manager had arranged to meet them to tell them of one or two ideas he had had.  He promised them that it would be a short informal meeting at the end of the day.

Anna, Maisie and Chloe arrived earlier than usual at the studio.  They had been shopping for new clothes in preparation for a short break they planned to have at the end of May. As the studio was in the city centre, they went there when they had finished.  The guys were almost done for the day and were waiting for Martin and the short meeting he had promised.

"Hi hun," smiled Howard happily as Anna and Maisie came to greet him.  "You've timed that nicely.  Just in time to make a brew for us!" He grinned at her as he kissed her hello.

"Oh nice!"  replied Anna, "Thought I'm the guest here.  You should be looking after me!"

"Yeah but your brews are better than mine," he tried to persuade her, as she sank down gratefully on the sofa.
