"what's got you looking all pissy?" freya didn't turn to the person as they sat down, not bothered to show any reaction. she was already in a bad enough mood as it was. "okay then, come on. tell me what's wrong." yunwong sighed, signaling her hands towards her.
"nothings wrong." the older rolled her eyes, keeping them stuck on the wall at the front of the room. "obviously there is because you're sitting here staring at the wall when class ended 7 minutes ago." yunwong deadpanned.
"is it about mark?" "yunwong i want to be alone right now." "ah so it is." the younger nodded, crossing her legs in front of her.
"you know the others may joke about you and mark but i can see that you genuinely have taken a liking to him." she chuckled, picking at her nails. "he's taken a liking to you too. it's so cliché but he's gotten a lot more calm and happy these days."
fryea tried her best not to snap back with something smart that'd expose her. it was hard when her heart was trying to say something but her mind was speaking louder, whispering and picking at her insecurities and trust issues.
"well expect for this week. i saw him talking to shin ryujin and he looked a bit worried.... and intimidated which is weird for mark." yunwong trailed off, thinking back to the scene she saw.
"they were probably talking about his precious eunli." freya mocked without thinking, immediately closing her eyes and clamping her mouth shut after. "eunli? shin eunli?" the younger gasped, her head snapping in freyas direction.
"is there another shin eunli?" the girl sassily, expression and tone doing nothing to hide her irritation. "well you would think there was when you hear that sentence. mark has expressed multiple times how he hates that she throws herself on him. they knew each other as kids though." yunwong scoffed, pushing her hair behind her ear.
"eunli has this undying obsession with him but she has more power because his father adores hers. if he were to say something wrong to her it could get him in a lot of trouble with his family." the younger mumbled angrily, almost inaudible.
it was as if she was having a conversation with herself but freya heard everything. she was listening intently, mind going crazy.
"so you should tell him about your feelings before it's too late." the younger smiled, patting freyas shoulder. "not happening." she shook her head, not even bothered to deny the youngers statement about her feelings. yunwong pursed her lips, leaning down in her bag to pull out a small book.
"here." she handed it to fryea with a straight face. the older eyed the object, it wasn't very big, had a red cover with the engraving of a smiley face on the front. but why was she handing her this? it had nothing to do with the conversation at all.
"write down everything you feel about the mark in this. once you feel like you can, write a letter to him. it's cringe but it helps, just don't give it to him unless you really want to." she explained.
freya kept her eyes on the red book, contemplating actually doing what the younger had suggested. yunwong sighed, grabbing her right hand and placing the book in her palm.
"just give it a try. thank me later." the younger smiled, standing from her seat and leaving the room.
the book was almost staring at freya, telling her that she had to do what she had been told to with it. did it really get to this? did she really go this far with her feelings?
