there was a knock on freyas door, ripping her attention from the kdrama she was currently falling asleep to. the girl let out a weak "come in" sitting up a little when she realized it was yeonjun with a nervous look on his face.
"hey freya..." he chuckled sheepishly. "what do you need?" she sighed, clicking her phone off and throwing it to the side. the older sat down on the edge of the bed, head held low.
"you know i love you, yeonjun." she had never seen his head snap up quicker, wide eyes finding hers albeit the very dim lighting. "you've been with me through everything, i would never replace you ever." she shook her head.
"i know." yeonjun sighed, letting his head fall again. "i just- i don't know what got into me. seeing you spend every waking moment with mark.... it just worried me." he confessed.
"well you have nothing to worry about. because losers like mark lee could never amount to you, choi yeonjun." freya smiled, the sleep that had once tried to concur her completely defeated now.
she wanted nothing more than to hug her best friend in that moment. to show him that, no, she never intended to make mark her "new best friend. to show him she truly meant what she had said, even if she had no idea how to express it properly.
"i guess i should've taken into consideration that you may be falling for him." yeonjun chuckled, sending her a teasing smile. she rolled her eyes, kicking his arm. "shut up." she muttered.
"you didn't deny it!" no she didn't. but she didn't confirm it either. and right now, she didn't want to think about mark or whether she was falling for him or not. she wanted to focus on her best friend who she hadn't even realized she was neglecting.
so focus on him she did, opening her arms out to him in hopes that he'd understand what she was asking for.
luckily, he did. he crawled up the bed, encircling his arms around her middle and snuggling into her chest. the comforting smell of vanilla filling his senses. this is what home was.
"i'm sorry." freya spoke again, letting her hands card though his hair. he hummed, moving his head the slightest bit to be able to look at her. "for what?" she could tell he was ready to fall victim to sleep in her arms, but she had to get
the heavy weight off of her chest (not the living breathing one of course)."for being a shitty friend. it's just been a lot. with seungmin and minhyuk and everything. marks just been helpful with everything, he's very observant." she sighed.
yeonjun chuckled again, shaking his head as he moved it back to its original place. "i really don't mind it all that much. id just rather you not treat me like a ghost you know." he mumbled.
"i won't, don't worry." she chuckled, getting comfortable and closing her eyes. "you have to let me sing at yours and marks wedding though."
she was happy to have her best friend back.
