"ah noona!" a deep voice called out as freya walked through the hallways of the btxt building, intending to get to the elevator. she turned around, a brow raising at the sight of jisung running towards her.
but it wasn't because he had called her or was running, it was because of the troubled expression he wore. he looked like he was on the verge of tears.
"hey ji- oh-" she froze abruptly when she felt his arms lock around her head and waist. this was... new. "hey... what's up?" the girl asked softly, the feeling of his body shaking causing a bad feeling in her stomach. "i'm all sweaty from training with mark, you might wan-"
"i just- i just need a hug for a second." he said quietly, burying his face farther into the girls neck.
freya didn't exactly know what to do. she really wasn't a big fan of affection or people touching her in general but it's not like she was gonna tell the younger that when he was obviously distressed.
so she did what any normal person would do in this situation and let her arms lift up to wrap around the boy. she pat his back awkwardly a few times, not really knowing what else to do.
"i-i'm sorry. i bet i caught you by surprise." the boy sniffed, pulling away from the older girl. it was now she realized he was actually crying. her eyes went soft at the sight, not expecting to see his bloodshot eyes and red nose.
she didn't exactly know what it was but whenever the younger members had troubles or problems she felt like it was her duty to help and protect them- even if she wasn't exactly fond of like... anyone.
"no no it's totally fine.... do you want to maybe talk about it?" she trailed off, not knowing what else to say. the youngers gaze was set on the floor in front of him, obviously anxious. but the question was; about what.
"i uh don't wanna bother you. you...you probably have to get back to training." he stuttered out, sniffing and using his right hand to scratch the back of his neck. freya rolled her eyes, pulling the boy into one of the smaller meeting rooms they had and signaling for the boy to sit in one of the chairs next to her.
"spill." she quipped, crossing her legs and leaning back in the chair. his head fell yet again, a sigh leaving his mouth.
"me and chenle got in a fight about his girlfriend this morning and... uh he was um- he was angry at me. that's actually an understatement he was fuming." the younger chuckled awkwardly, letting his head fall into his hands.
freya pursed her lips. she knew chenle and jisung were pretty close and age and within the week and a half they'd been training with chenle she realized the two were as close as close could get.
"well what did you fight about?" this question made the younger look up apprehensively, getting a bit fidgety with his hands. "i mean you don't have to tell me but i can't really help if you don't." the girl shrugged, pulling out her ponytail to mess with her hair so that it wasn't just everywhere.
"it was about his girlfriend obviously.. i don't think she likes him back but he really likes her and she keeps leading him on and i tried to tell him she's just using him but he blew up on me and i made him cry and-"
"woah slow down ji. breathe kid, you're gonna end up having a panic attack." freya instructed, passing the boy a water bottle from the mini fridge in the middle of them.
jisung opened the bottle and took a long drink from it, pulling the bottle away from his lips and letting himself breathe before continuing.
"i don't know noona. i'm just... trying to look out for him. he's my best friend. best friends are supposed to look out for each other. and my senses tell me this girl is no good for him." the boy ranted, earning a raised brow from freya.
"understandable. i think the best you can do in this situation is to stand back and let him realize." she hummed. "that or you can get dirt on her and then post it on-"
"okay that's enough of that." the sight of mark taking his step into the room, cutting off freyas very risky sentence. the girl rolled her eyes, letting out a small inaudible scoff.
"knew you were eavesdropping the whole time." "i wasn't eavesdropping, i was making sure you wouldn't say something like what you were about to say to the poor boy." mark hissed, sitting in a chair across from the two after pulling the door closed.
"anyways, why were you so shaken up about the fight i mean i can see why you'd be worried but i don't at the same time...?" freya trailed off, her confusion showing through her tone. jisung inhaled, taking a very big deep breath.
"well when we argued he ran out crying this morning and hasn't answered any of my texts or calls. i haven't seen him all day." the boy explained, looking out of the window that revealed the city that lit up brightly in contrast to the dark night sky.
"well i'm sure he just went to his house or something." mark shrugged. jisung pursed his lips and shook his head. "i looked in multiple places i thought he'd be and he wasn't there."
freyas head titled to the side, inhaling through her teeth. "maybe he's hiding from you?" she questioned. anyone would suppose that was the reason... they were fighting anyways.
but just then taehyun barged into the room with tear stains running down his face. "oh my god you too-" "noona kai went missing."
