"have you talked to them any...?" aria trailed off, looking at freya who was watching lola teach mark how to play minecraft. this was a once in a lifetime thing because lola didn't let anyone touch her pc.
"we've had some.... interactions. none of them were good." freya sighed, leaning her head on her fathers shoulder who was sitting next to her. "am i a bad sister? a bad person?" she questioned with a mumble, suddenly caving into herself.
"of course not. everything that's happened, happened for a reason." aria frowned, shaking her head and rubbing her hand softly on freyas leg. "minhyuk and seungmin chose the wrong path. you didn't." heyeon pat her shoulder with the arm that was laid across the back of the couch.
"me and seungmin used to be so close. we all did. it doesn't make any sense." freya was obviously conflicted. she wanted to tell them about minhyuk. but the main thing standing in her way was the fact that she couldn't just flat out tell them "hey your adoptive son killed your real one" that was just cruel.
"they have their reasons. even if they aren't good ones.... sometimes people make sacrifices for their own lives and benefits." aria sighed shakily, patting the girls thigh one more time before getting up to go to the kitchen and put the leftover food in containers.
"and some people sacrifice their lives for others benefits, that's where you come in ji." heyeon said quietly, a small smile playing his lips as he felt the girl tightly wrap her arms around him. "one day that's gonna get me killed." her voice was muffled by his shirt.
"i don't think it will. you're not the only one here with that mindset." his eyes wandered to mark who was staring at freyas crumpled figure. his eyes traveled up to heyeons, widening before he offered a small smile to the man.
what he didn't expect was a smile back.
