it's alright if you run out of breath, no one will blame you
it was almost if freyas body moved for her, immediately jerking to stand in front of her brother with her arms out to the side, using herself as a barricade.it happened all the fast, the bullet landing in her chest. it wasn't an unknown feeling to her to get shot, but this one hurt way more then getting shot in her leg or arm. of course there was no brushing it off, no the pain took it's toll quickly. she began to fall backwards, too shocked to even control her own body.
"freya no!" jin screamed loudly, catching girl and falling on his knees with tears in his eyes. she held her chest with a groan, bringing one of her hands up to look at the large amount of blood that had seeped from the wound, her eyes momentarily widening.
"n-no no no freya, talk to me." the man held her face, his breathing erratic. her head started to hurt, ears rang as she peered up at her brother with a small smile. except for it wasn't a smile. she was in too much pain and not enough control of her body to even form a small smile.
"this is a familiar scene isn't it." she chuckled weakly, not getting any sort of reaction from the older. her voice was hoarse, almost unrecognizable due to the amount of shaking and heavy breathing she was doing. she coughed, once, twice, and then wheezed until blood began to fall from her mouth.
everyone else was fighting while they sat on the cold wet wood, jin frantically trying to stop freyas bleeding. it was harder to do so, because it was her chest. had it had been her arm or maybe even her stomach, he could've helped.
"you and namjoon will have an amazing family. you're gonna be the best dads." she finally began to smile, although it was weakly, as she held onto jin's hands. "freya!" yeonjun called out, spotting his best friend laying in her brothers lap with a pool of crimson red liquid surrounding them.
immediately he was by their side, holding her face with a worried look.
"yeonjun, my favorite person." she rasped, turning her head the most her body would allow. the pain in their eyes mirrored each others, the tears falling from both jin and yeonjuns eyes falling and mixing with the pool of crimson. "freya we have to-" "it's no use yeonie." she coughed out, allowing more blood to fall past her lips.
"no use." her voice was small, her eyes drooping, no longer able to stay open on their own will. "no freya you can't- you can't go. please." jin begged, holding her hand tight enough to make her feel something other than the pain that surged through her entire body.
"i love you always jin. have kids. tell them i love them. yeonjun, you too." her voice was now a whisper, her whole body going completely numb. it became harder and harder to stay still, the girl twitching in her brothers lap as she held her chest with a groan.
"tell the others they made this life worth living. tell mama and papa i loved them and appreciated them taking care of someone like me." tears filled her eyes, her eyelashes sticking together causing it to be even harder to keep her eyes open. she was no longer able to breathe, it was surprising she held out that long.
"it's not marks fault." what was left of her breath caught in her throat, long strings of coughs coming out of her mouth as she made eye contact with mark who had just pushed one of the treaties off of the boat.
"thank you for teaching me genuine love." her words were slurred, eyes rolling back as she tried to fight it. but it was no use as her vision began to go white, ears ringing so loud that she couldn't hear the screams coming from her older brother and best friend.
she couldn't even hear mark pleading that she come back, mark pleading that she didn't go because he loved her so much and didn't want to lose her.
not like this.
the three sobbed hard watching freyas body go limp, yeonjun harshly wiping his tears away and standing abruptly.
he stomped his way across the boat, grabbing two discarded guns from the ground, not paying any kind of attention to the fighting that was going on around him. he needed revenge and he needed now, even if he knew nothing could satisfy him after this.
"mark lee!" he shouted angrily, the hurt still evident in the way his voice cracked. the said canadian looked up with tearful eyes, catching the black metal object that was thrown to him. "let's settle this huh?" the younger gritted out, cocking his gun.
mark looked at him questioningly, hands shaking. he couldn't believe yeonjun had just thrown a gun at him, but it didn't matter when the love of his life was laying lifeless in her own puddle of blood right next to him.
yeonjun turned to where minhyuk stood back, watching everyone fight with a smirk. he thought he'd gotten away with it, especially with freya gone. mark then understood what yeonjun was hinting at, cocking his own gun as he stood up.
at the same time, both the young adults held their guns up, pointing in the direction of the older man who had yet to realize them.
"all's well the fucking ends well." mark and yeonjun said at the same time, pulling their triggers simultaneously.
