GUYS, this chapter is dedicated to KOTLC_reader cause she's amazing and she convinced me to write even though i have absolutely no motivation to write lol

MADDILYN SNAPE FELT LIKE shit, to put it bluntly. "What happened?" Maddie said, forcing her eyes open.

Severus Snape leapt up. "You really are going to get killed playing Quidditch, Mads," Severus grumbled.

"I knew that a while ago," Maddie said nonchalantly, attempting to get up, but immediately winced in pain.

Silver Gray and Leo Reese burst in, the former rushing over to the bedside. "Are you okay?" Silver asked.

"What happened?" Maddie asked. "I feel like I got trampled by an elephant herd."

"I don't know what an el-a-plant is, but Sirius Black hit you with a bludger," Silver said.

"Elephant," Maddie corrected Silver. "Did Madam Pomfrey say I broke anything?"

"Only shattered a few bones in your left arm," Severus said. "Said you should get out of bed rest soon, she used Skelegrow."

"Regulus caught the snitch seconds after you got hit," Leo added.

"Good," Maddie said, attempting to get up again. "My arm feels like a noodle."

"What's a noodle?" Silver asked confusedly.

Leo laughed. "I really need to show you the Muggle world, don't I," Leo said giving Silver an adoring look.

"Obviously," Silver said, smirking.

MADDILYN SNAPE ARRIVED IN the great hall, flanked by Silver Gray and Leo Reese. Everyone abruptly stopped, and the whispers started.

"You'd think they've never seen a person before," Silver muttered to Leo. Leo gave her a small laugh and the three made their way to the Slytherin table.

"I see you've gotten discharged," Regulus Black said, looking up from a copy of the Daily Prophet.

"No she didn't," Severus said bluntly. "Judging of how she looks right now, she just left the Healing Wing. Madam Pomfrey is a better mediwitch than letting a healing student out before they're supposed to."

"Are you guys sure you don't have twin telepathy?" Silver asked.

"We're sure," the two said at the same time, a wicked smile adorning Maddie's face, a hint of a grin on Severus's.

"Stop creeping us out," Silver whined. The group laughed and settled into an easy morning.

MADDILYN SNAPE KNEW SHE couldn't avoid Sirius Black forever, but she holed up in the Library, sure that it would be the last place he'd look. However foolish the Gryffindor may have been, he certainly wasn't stupid. The library was the second place he'd been. He even braved the Slytherin dungeons, only to find out she wasn't there, so Sirius figured that was where the notorious Slytherin would be.

To nobody's surprise, Maddie had her nose buried in a book, in the corner of the library.

"I thought I'd find you here," Sirius said, smirking lightly.

Maddie jumped out of her seat, startled. "Hey, Sirius," Maddie said warily. "Can I help you?"

"Are we going to talk about what happened?" Sirius asked.

"Oh shit," Maddie muttered. "Hey, Sev," Maddie greeted. Sirius spun around.

"Madam Pince said you were hogging all the Potions books," Severus said amusedly, ignoring the fact that Sirius was there.

"I mean, there is one over there," Maddie said sheepishly. Sure enough, there was a lone book standing out in the shelves. "Which one are you looking for?"

"The History of Potioneers," Severus said.

"It's in that pile somewhere," Maddie said, pointing to a neatly stacked pile. Severus grabbed the book and stalked out of the library.

"What do you want, Sirius," Maddie said, turning around.

"Are we ever going to talk?" Sirius asked, giving Maddie a look.

"We're talking right now," Maddie said pointedly.

Sirius rolled his eyes. "I'm being serious, Maddie," Sirius said.

"Good, because you are Sirius," Maddie replied wittily.

"Are you always this impossible?" Sirius asked.

"Don't cry 'but I'm Sirius' all the time, and people will listen when you say 'serious'," Maddie said. "Just like you shouldn't cry wolf."

"Cry wolf?" Sirius asked, scowling.

"Muggle thing," Maddie said dismissively. "Anyways, what do you want again?"

"Are we going to talk about what happened? (a/n: at this point i forgot what happened. quickly goes back to chapter eight. oh. wait. seven oop)" Sirius asked.

Maddie sighed. "Unfortunately," Maddie said. "Lets go down to Black Lake."

IT HAD BEEN NEARLY a week since Maddilyn Snape and Sirius Black talked at the Black Lake. Nobody knew what happened, but the two barely talked to anyone, and never to each other.

Sirius followed Maddie to the Black Lake, the two walking in silence.

"I like you," Maddie said bluntly.

"I'm sorry, I don't know what I was thinking," Sirius confessed. "It was the spur of the moment, and you looked so goddamned kissable."

"Well, I'm not sorry," Maddie said, defiance in her tone.

"What will James and Remus and Peter think? Dating a Slytherin," Sirius said, worried about his friends reactions. "It can't happen."

"Are you afraid to date a Slytherin?" Maddie laughed bitterly. "Slytherins are much like yourself, Sirius."

"I'm not a Death Eater, Maddie!" Sirius replied.

"None of the Slytherins want to be Death Eaters,"  Maddie said. "Just because the majority of Slytherin families support You-Know-Who, doesn't mean the children immediately inheirit their beliefs. You would know."

"Explain Lucius Malfoy, or those Death Eaters who show off their Dark Marks?" Sirius said.

"For your information, Malfoy doesn't have the Mark," Maddie said coldly. "And those who do? They're scared of being rejected by their parents. After all, the Wizarding Society has already rejected them for being them, and treats Slytherins like they are nothing but evil."

"They are evil," Sirius protested.

"Evil and misunderstood are the same concept. A villain is just a misunderstood person, who's been rejected, and neglected." Maddie said. "And you forget, I am part of the House of Serpents. Does that mean I'm evil."

"But you're different!" Sirius said.

"When people expect someone to be evil, only time'll tell how long it will take to break them into a monster you create," Maddie said. "And it may surprise you to know, but most of the Slytherins are rebelling against their parents. And those who aren't are on the inside. The Snake Bite Rebellion. Be aware of the bite."

"But not all of them are part of the Slytherin rebellion," Sirius replied.

And the one person she could rely on through thick and thin was blinded by the power of the concept of Dark Magic.

"Everybody has the opportunity," Maddie said. "Your brother is one of the founding members."

And that kept Sirius silent. He was so blinded by his hatred towards Slytherins because of his heiritage and upbringing. But were Slytherins all so bad? Or were they just another part of a broken society trying to repair. They couldn't repair if they were divided. They had to move on forward, and together. And if House prejudice would follow them out of Hogwarts, the Wizarding World would never truly be united.
