Eventually, Jason stopped walking, so Mabel stopped too, but she kept her eyes closed. Jason took a deep breath.
"Alright Mabel, you can open your eyes now," he told her. Mabel nodded, and slowly opened her eyes. Then she gasped. Jason had brought her to the end of the forest. In front of them was a hill, with a beautiful view of the sunset. A picnic blanket had been set out, a long with some food and drinks. Though it was beautiful, Mabel hesitated. It was the same hill from her nightmare. She glanced back at Jason. He nodded. Taking a deep breath, Mabel walked over to the picnic blanket and sat down. Jason came over and sat down as well. Without either of them saying anything, they began to eat.
After they were all done, they stood up and walked off the picnic blanket. Jason rolled it up, then pushed it off to side a long with everything else that was there. Once he was done, he sat down, then gestured for Mabel to sit beside him, so she did, with a little hesitation though. Should I leave? She wondered. She wasn't sure if she should stay, since this was exactly like her nightmare. But she was snapped out of her thoughts when Jason spoke up.
"Okay, I know we've only known each other for a couple of days, but I brought you here to ask you something," he murmured. Mabel tilted her head to the side, curious. Taking a deep breath, Jason continued on.
"Will you go out with me?" He asked. Mabel's eyes widened. He wanted to go out with her? She wasn't used to this, afterall, she was normally the one to ask the boy, not the other way around. Then a smile grew on her face, and she started to laugh. Then Jason started laughing too, like he had said a joke, and not asked her a serious question. But he stopped. Mabel stopped too, her eyes to the sky. Why did he stop? This was getting scary now. She was scared to look at him, afraid of what she might see or what might happen if she did. Mentally preparing herself, she looked at Jason. If felt like her heart stopped. His eyes were yellow, with cat like pupils in them, and he had a huge smile on his face. Mabel's breathing quickened, and she immediately stood up to run away. But he was faster. He got up and ran over, grabbing her by the throat. A whimper escaped her mouth. Bill chuckled, then laughed. He laughed so hard, he dropped Mabel. While he was distracted, she ran. She ran faster than she ever did in her whole life. Even after tripping on many sticks and roots and nearly running into trees multiple times, it wasn't long until she spotted the Mystery Shack. She ran in, slamming the door behind her and leaning against. Everyone, who was originally just talking, turned to stare at her. She looked over all of them, then stopped her gaze on Stanford. Without catching her breath, she spoke up.
"He's back."
