Pacifica woke up with a yawn. Sunlight streamed in through the window, and she could hear birds chirping. Did it work? She wondered. Then she noticed something was in her hand. It was a note from Shadow. Pacifica opened the note and began to read it.
Dear Pacifica,
You were able to defeat Bill. Somehow you passed out though. Due to you passing out, he won't be banished for as long as he could've been, but he won't be back for at least four or five decades. Also, I do believe that you saw something with me. Do not worry about him, he will not give you any trouble, nor will you see him again. Anyways, if you ever need me for anything, simply call for me. Either by saying my name out loud, or calling for me in your mind.
Your friend, Shadow.
Pacifica stared at it for a bit longer, then put it away and looked out the window. Outside stood Mabel with her head high and hair flowing in the wind. Without doing anything else Pacifica got out of bed and left the attic, hurrying down the stairs. Taking a deep breath, she opened the door and walked out onto the porch, closing the door behind her. As quietly as she could, she walked over to Mabel.
"Are you okay?" Pacifica asked, coming up to the brunette. Mabel turned her head and looked at her.
"I'm okay. Are you?" Mabel asked back.
"Yeah I'm good," Pacifica said. Mabel nodded but didn't say anything else as the two girls looked up at the sky. Pacifica took a deep breath.
"Ya'know, this year so far has been weird, but the best parts were with you," Pacifica murmured.
"Same," Mabel breathed out.
"Maybe things won't be so bad afterall," the two said in unison, now holding hands. The two of them would be together forever.
