Ch. 37

Damon comes in dressed all in black, like usual, except this time he added a pair of shades into his outfit.

He immediately plopped down by the open seat next to alex and I saw how she didn't even acknowledge him. She continued staring straight at the tv in front of us with the drink in her hand. I saw her grip the bottle tighter in her grip and saw her finish it.

"What's up man?" Jack said, coming up to greet him. I saw how Elijah came behind but decided to maintain his distance.

Damon groaned a bit but he maintained himself.

"Congrats on growing that though. Suits you." Damon said, staring at Jack.

"I'll take the compliment. Never comes out of your mouth." Jack said coming near May and I. He came behind her and started massaging her shoulders. She threw her head back to smile back at him but within that same second she looked back down and her smile faded away quick.

You really don't see how messed up everyone's life truly is until you start noticing the smaller details and the small gestures they do.

I focus my attention back on Elijah and notice how he's trying to figure out damon. I guess he felt my gaze and looked straight into my eyes.

"You guys don't want to smoke?" Jack asked before leaving mays side and making his way to the staircase.

"Haven't done that in a while so i'll take a drink." Damon said. Alex agreed and so did Elijah.

As Jack ran upstairs, I turned to may. She gave me an innocent smile.

I looked back at Alex and I could tell she was bothered. The mood in the room had changed.

"So I heard there's a new date for the meeting. You think Harris might know something?" Damon said. I realized he was sitting on the couch properly and he was directing the question to me.

"Knows about something being plotted? Well, not necessarily but obviously he's not going to take any risks. I had a eeling hed be changing the date to surprise everyone and to make a point." I said.

Although I couldn't see damon's eyes, I knew he was staring straight ahead. A few seconds had passed and he turned his head towards Alex. Alex noticed the slight movement and stood up from her seat.

"May if you don't mind, i'm going to go grab a snack." Alex said as she avoided everyone's gaze and started making her way towards the kitchen.

I knew something weird was going on but I tried not to pay too much attention towards the situation. I would eventually find out from Alex. If not, she didnt have to speak about it either.

Damon followed her until she disappeared into the kitchen and he kept looking at that direction contemplating whether he should follow her or not.

Elijah took this opportunity to ask Damon about his whereabouts and whether or not he was keeping a low profile.

"This is why i bought these new Gucci shades. You like?" Damon said jokingly giving us a creepy smile. This made laugh a bit and Damon went on and on about how h appreciated someone in the room admiriing his style.

Jack came back downstairs telling us that the pizza would be delivered in about 20 minutes. He was coming towards us and I decided to stand up to go follow Alex into the kitchen and see what was up since she was taking a bit too long to go for a quick snack grab.
