His Property

Ch. 27

We had dropped off Alex and I got to convince Elijah to stay over with me.

We were in my bedroom with all the lights turned off. I looked to my left side and the moonlight helped illuminate Elijahs peacefully sleeping silloute. I couldn't help but notice how his chest rised up and down as he snored very softly. I smiled and then looked up at the ceiling thinking of how I never imagined myself being in this position.

And because I was nervous for the hours to come. When we arrived at my place, Damon called Elijah about how they were planning on attacking the office tomorrow. Damon was going to drop off some equipment and then leave to set the stuff up with Jack while Elijah would instruct me on what to do.

I dont think I have ever done something this crazy in my life before. The last time I ever felt this wave of thrill was the time I snuck in vodka in a water bottle back in highschool during a test. Never again.

I reached to grab my phone from under my pillow to check the time. It was already 2:34 am and I mentally slapped myself. I would be up in a few hours and I am not a morning person.

I laid there for a couple more minutes with my back on the bed facing the ceiling when I felt an arm being wrapped around my waist. I laughed silently as I heard Elijah groan and mumbling "go to sleep."

I don't know but his words managed to have an effect on me and I couldn't really move as I was being held down so I had no other choice than to close my eyes letting the darkness take over.

I woke up when my hand fell on the bed and I felt an empty space. I stood up and looked around the room. The bedroom door was slightly opened and I stretched my arms, having a slight seizure before I stood up and walked out the room.

Elijahs bare back was facing me and I could barely see what he was setting up but he had different types of wires spread all around him.

I walked towards him and he smiled saying "about time." I rolled my eyes and asked him what this all was.

"Damon dropped this off about an hour ago and i've been trying to adjust it so that it feels comfortable." He said picking up something that I guessed was an earpiece.

"Is this all really necessary?" I asked him. "I mean i thought we were only using this at the meeting. "

"The whole point of this is to be able to talk to you and guide you on what you need to say to persuade him. Unless you don't want the help but I doubt you are good at acting." He said looking at me and I crossed my arms.

"Hmm I guess we'll just have to see then huh." I left him to continue doing whatever he needed to do as I grabbed two bowls for us. I felt too lazy to cook anything and I didn't have much besides three eggs in the carton.

I set out the jar of milk on the table and told him to come eat something.

If i'm being completely honest i wasn't feeling as hungry but I didn't want to get a headache in the middle of everything.

Elijah sat on the chair as I pulled out four different cereal boxes.

"All right which one do you want? I have cocoa pebbles, captain crunch, lucky charms, and kellogs strawberry." I said setting them down. He reached out and grabbed the cocoa pebbles.

"Not bad." I said setting the kellogs strawberry aside for mysef.

I heard elijah laugh a bit as he said "why am I not surprised."

"What does that even mean?" I said as I stuffed a spoonful of cereal into my mouth.

"Exactly what it means." He said.

I just shot him a glare and looked at the time.

I almost dropped the bowl as I noticed it was getting late and I still needed to get ready.

I rushed and ate quickly and threw the dirty bowl in the sink.

"Just leave it there and I'll wash it later. Don't touch anything." I said walking towards the room.

I grabbed a random pencil skirt and a white blouse to throw over.

After I showered, I dressed myself up and quickly brushed my hair and tried to style it as much as I could.

I walked out to see if Elijah had already set up the earpiece and he raised it up proudly showing what he had constructed.

He then noticed my appearance and seemed to stiffen up a bit.

"Where shall we begin?" I asked him. "Come here." He said as he signaled me to come closer. I did as told and I was now inches away from him. He was still shirtless and I felt myself get slightly nervous.

"Alright so this" he said holding out what seemed to be small microphone, "This will go aroud your back and up your neck. A button up was a good choice or else I was going to ask you to change anyways."

"Okay." Was all I could manage to say as I waited for him to continue explaing what the rest was.

"And this will be connected to the other end but instead this will go inot your ear and its small enough so that no one is really able to see it unless you stare hardly. And since you have brunette hair it'll blend in perfectly." He said wrapping it all together.

"Lift up your shirt." He said looking at me.

I was taken back a bit and proceeded to do as he said. I pulled up my shirt a bit revealing the right side of my stomach.

I bit my lip nervously as his finger came into contact with my skin. He started sticking the microphone wire onto my body with soft silicone tape and his finger went up my lower back slowly until it reached my bra strap.

"Alright up.. just move this towards your chest so that we can hear you without interruptions." He said as I put my hand under the shirt to grab the wire. I succefully pulled it to the front and stared at him.

For a minute or so we kept looking at each other and he was slowly leaning in. When his lips were only a few inches away he stopped in his tracks to look up at me and said "we should get going."

He then walked into the room as I adjusted my shirt and grabbed a pair of heels. I garbbed my phone and my bag and checked to see if I had my files arranged.

"Lets go." He said. We both walked out and I closed the door behind me wishing that if everything turned out as planned, I'd return to my bed safe and sound.

the whole car ride was silent and it wasn't an awkard silent but I know we were both thinking about what the outcome of today would be.

Before I entered the buildings parking lot, I dropped off Elijah in an alley around the corner where a black suv was parked.

I wanted to tell him something about earlier but I didn't want to get an answer i didn't want to hear. I unlocked the door for him and waited till he got out of the car. I looked over to face him and he was already staring at me.

He leaned over to put his hand on top of mine and said "I'm sorry about earlier. I know you must feel confused and I don't blame you. After all you are doing something huge for me and damon and we only met a few weeks ago. I know you'll get out of their safely and i'll be out here waiting to go talk out over coffee."

"You don't even like coffee." I said giving him a slight smile.

"No but you do." I looked at our hands as he moved his thumb up arund against my skin and looked back at him.

He finally let go and before closing th car door behind him he told me goodluck.

With that I started the car and drove into the parking praying everything would turn out as expected.
