" I don't think that's a good idea." I placed the box on the side of the couch and grabbed a mouthful of pizza.

Both girls continued to gaze at my every move making me feel very uncomfortable. They tend to do that a lot.

"Are you serious? You're not going to contact him?" I continued to block Alex's questions while I made my way to the kitchen to boil water for a tea.

"And you complain about not having anyone." May said standing up from her seated position. She checked her phone and started packing her things.

"It isn't like that at all. I'm not trying to push him away I'm just done trying to chase guys in general. Plus I don't know the kind of business and people he deals with. We barely survived the party remember?" Both Elijah and his brother had some serious business going on and it almost had us killed that day.

"Maybe that's what would make him special. He's a mysterious guy along with his brother. Wouldn't you want to know more about him in general?" Alex said swallowing the last piece of pizza left.

"He literally has jack as a messenger. If he really was interested he would try a little harder."

"Oh so you do you want him to try" may said making her way towards the door.

"I'd be nice if he did." I said

"Well girls something came up with jack. I'll come by tomorrow after work."

"Take care and please don't do anything dumb." Alex waved a goodbye and with that she left rushing out of my apartment door.

"Are you leaving soon as well?" I turned to Alex.

"Shit do you want me to go already?"

"Obviously not. I'm just saying you can stay over if you want. It's kind of late anyways." I poured the boiling water in a cup and I let it cool down by the countertop and made my way to Alex.

"Wow have I told you how much i love you." I jumped on her making her groan in annoyance.

"Get. The fuck. Off me." She said between breathes.

"Aw cmon. I'm not that fat. Plus you make a great pillow." Without even thinking twice she shoved me aside and made her way towards the door.

"Aw no why are you leaving?"

"I would stay but I have to go arrange stuff with mom about Andres and there isn't traffic at this time." She said grabbing her sweater from the other side of the couch.

"Text me when you're home yeah?" I said

"Will do." And with that she left as well leaving me and this empty space.

I laid on the couch looking up at the ceiling thinking about Elijah.

"Nope we have to stop." I thought to myself.

I went to my desk and grabbed my laptop. The silence around me was just what I needed to jog down some story ideas if I do end up getting the job.

_____

I don't remember how I ended up falling asleep on the couch but I did. I realized how it was only 3:45 am and it was dark in the apartment.

I stood up immediately realizing that I hadn't turned off the lights to my own place. My feet made contact with the cold wooden floor and it sent shivers down to the bottom of my spine.

I grabbed my phone from the kitchen counter as quickly and quietly as I could and noticed I have 5 missed calls from Alex and 2 from maybelline.

I mentally cursed myself out and immediately texted them both.

I nearly jumped as I heard a loud crash come from my bedroom.

I quietly walked towards my room with my phone unlocked ready to call for help.

The door was slightly opened making the light of the moon creep in through the door crack. I slowly touched the wall until I felt the light switch.

I turned it on immediately grabbing my sandal and throwing it across the room towards the figure near the window.

"Ouch. Did I get the wrong room?"

I looked up only to recognize those same pair of eyes.
