Kade tried to stop running, tripping over his own paws. He fell muzzle first into a big puddle of mud. He sighed, but got some in his mouth.
"Ew! Eh, bleh! Yuck!" He exclaimed, instantly lifting his head up, and spitting out the mud in every single direction. Some was still on his tongue, so he brushed it off with one of his paws. "Ew, oh god. That taste is going to haunt me for the rest of my life." Kade shuddered in disgust.
"Well, two wolves in one day? Interesting. I could have sworn I was the only one out here. Besides that one weird wolf with the two cats. But, as I can see, you are out here too." A voice spoke.
Kade shook the rest of the mud off his muzzle, staring at the stranger, a wolf like himself, only this one was tan.
"And who might you be?" Kade growled, standing up.
"Hey, hey, hey! No need for that tone." Butch said. "Especially from a puppy." He mumbled under his breathe.
"What did you say?!" Kade shouted, leaping at Butch, who dodged the attack easily.
"Wrong choice." Butch stated, looking at Kade in disappointment, for Kade had landed in another puddle. "Wow, you must be really embarrassed right now."
"No...not really." Kade managed to say, once more attempting to hurt the tan wolf, even though Kade couldn't see very well.
Butch moved over a few paces, sending the gray wolf toppling into a bush.
"Screw you!" Kade exclaimed angrily. "What the hell are you doing here? Wait, you're that, 'Butch' guy, right? I've heard rumors about you. They say you are strong. That's funny, because you are really weak!"
Butch's jaws were clamped around Kade's throat in a second. "Let's not play games, shall we? Trust me, I'm being more than generous. And, as to answer your question, I'm here because I'm doing my job."
"And what might your job be?" Came Kade's snotty remark.
"I've been sent here by the Alpha of the BlackRaven pack. Apparently the Beta, some wolf named Lantos was disturbed by a dog named Kade. Have you seen him anywhere?" Butch replied.
Kade gulped. "D-dog?" He stuttered.
"Mhm. Let me ask again. Have you seen him?"
"Heh, no. I'm just a lonely stray...you know, out for a walk."
"That sounds like something a dog would say." Butch narrowed his eyes.
Kade began running once more, not even stopping to look behind him. For all he knew, it could just slow him down.
